So, I’ve been struggling with #14 a bit lately. As I tried to sit down and plan for it, I realized that I have no idea how to plan a five course dinner. I honestly don’t know how to start.
Have any of you ever created a five-course meal for a loved one? I’m thinking of doing a “farewell to summer” theme, using the freshest produce I can find. I just have no idea where to start trying to map this out. Thus, I’m counting on you, my lovely readers, to help me. I know a 5 course meal is supposed to consist of an appetizer, salad, soup, entree and dessert. That’s all good and well, but I’m not huge on soup. Any other ideas of what I can do in place of a soup? Two appetizers? Hmm, this all just seems complicated.
I guess my next steps are planning a coherent meal with theme. If any of you have done this before, please feel free to share some ideas with me. I’m trying to think of this as my opportunity to have my own restaurant for one night. I’ve already told K that this is happening and I definitely want to use tomatoes and fresh items from the farmer’s market, so this will be underway sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!
