I DID IT! It took about 2.5 hours, lots of sweat, pain, tears and doubts, but I ran my second ever half marathon this past Saturday. And man — I gotta be honest, it kicked my butt a bit. As I wrote about, I began to get really tired of running and so I definitely slacked on my training a bit the final two weeks. And I felt it. I also neglected to realize just how many hills were in the course. But you know what? It felt great to set a goal and complete it. I am so proud of myself and I’m reminded of that every time I get up from the couch, walk down stairs, or get out of bed. 🙂
Everyone is asking how the race was…welll… 🙂 I’ll be honest. It wasn’t my best race ever. But I had a decent time (about 2.5 hours) and the weather was perfect for the race. It was truly a great day and I’m so excited that it’s DONE! 🙂
I earned my medal for sure. And I’m not quite done with running yet. I’m going to sign up for the Capitol Hill Classic, a 10k in May and my favorite race of all time, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in June (5k). I hope to be able to run both of those with T, my favorite running buddy!
Also, in a couple weeks I’ll be cheering on numerous friends (including Emily Kate!) during the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler! Yay running 🙂
Check out my swag!
