Eat Pray Run, DC

Bienvenido a Miami!

party in the city where the heat is on

all night on the beach til the break of dawn

welcome to miami, bienvenido a miami…

You may remember those lines from the classic Will Smith song, “Miami” and if you don’t, here you go. You’re welcome. I am in beautiful Miami for a quick work trip and had the opportunity to get in a run this morning. I soaked up the 75 degree and sunny tempature and had a great run close to the water. Here was my view…

Seriously, does it get any better than that? As I mentioned last week, I started the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler training plan today. Today’s run plan was a 30 min walk / run. I modified that and just ran for 30 minutes. I don’t know if it was the sunshine, the 75 degree temperature, the view or all of the above, but this was the best run I’ve had in 2013. Everything was just flowing on all aspects and it was great. The other thing that was fantastic was theĀ lack of humidity. If you don’t live in DC or the South (deep south) then you may not appreciate the glory of a run in warm weather with no humidity. Just trust me on the fact that it is fantastic.

If you are training for the Cherry Blossom, how did your first run go?

Way to rub it in while it’s sleeting here! Actually, I’ll be there in a few weeks, so if you could convince the weather gods to hold out that would be great!

Also, Guru Indian and Michael’s Genuine are awesome restaurants down there.

Pretty sure the weather will be JUST as amazing :)
