Eat Pray Run, DC

Weekend Eats & Plans

Posted on: February 1, 2013

While on my 21 Day Daniel Fast, I have been pinning up a storm. Some were Daniel Fast recipes and others were things I’d make once the fast ended. This weekend, I’m planning on making a couple of different appetizers to take to a Super Bowl party. First, I’m going to make a healthier version of Spinach Artichoke Dip (in my crockpot!) served with pita chips. Then I’m going to make a pepperoni pizza dip. I’m excited about both of these and especially excited to try and make the pizza dip a bit healthier. I’ll report back (unless it’s a total disaster :) ) next week!

What else is happening besides the Super Bowl this weekend? I have a football game this Saturday afternoon and I’m optimistically hoping the field looks like this:

Sadly, DC doesn’t get real snow anymore (booooo), so we’ll just tough it out in the cold with NO SNOW. After my team locks up our first win (fingers crossed!), I’m heading over to Stadium Armory to watch some touch women duke it out on skates. Yep, I’m attending my first DC Rollergirls bout Saturday afternoon. Luckily, I know what to expect because The Bachelor featured a roller derby date this week. Haha! Unlike the ladies on the Bachelor, I’m pretty certain the DC Rollergirls actually kick butt and am so excited to see this! I’m making my friends promise to not let me get overexcited and decide to sign up. I’m already way too over-committed.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to pre-game the Super Bowl by watching the Puppy Bowl! Yay, puppies!

Neufchatel will help, with that pizza dip! Always a good, slightly healthier sub for cream cheese. Can’t wait to try it!

I went on a date tonight, and instead of snacking on sugary or junk food, we used dates and water. Which is already 60 percent more sweeter than most fruits… and absolutely delicious while watching the Hobbit.
