I’m always surprised at how quickly the years seem to go by, but here we are – 2017 is here! My racing plans are more solid now, so I wanted to share wants on my plate. Of course, a lot more will be filled in throughout the year but you’ve got to start somewhere, right? And my big goal races for the year are now solidified. Here are my 2017 racing plans. I was excited to see Deb’s new Race Linkup – so I’m linking up this post there. Go check it out!
Phoenix Women’s Half Marathon – this will be used as a long run. I will not be racing this one! At least the plan is not to race this one – my plan is to try out my fueling – to use this as a practice run. This is also a big Oiselle team meet up, so it will be extra fun!
B&A Trail Half Marathon – this is my goal half marathon this spring. This is not a technical trail race – it’s a paved rails to trail race that is mostly flat. It’s smaller sized and close to home. I’m excited about it and will hope to PR (meaning run faster than 1:56:44).
Cherry Blossom Ten Miler. I love this race and am always excited to run it. Hopefully, the weather will be better than last year’s freezing temperatures. More than likely, I will try and set a ten miler PR here – especially if the B&A Half went well the previous month.
BAA 5K. I’m not sure if I can swing this but I sure as heck want to try. I had SUCH fun last year and would love to go back.
Northface Endurance Marathon Relay. This will be my third year in a row running this with my Oiselle teammates. It’s always such fun and the weather has been crazy each year (super hot versus snow, rain and sun last year) so there is no telling what we will be in for this year – but it’s always such fun!
Berlin Marathon! Eek. So excited about this. Much more to come, obviously, but I’m pretty pumped! Still a LOT of planning in the works for this trip.
Richmond Marathon. I’m thrilled to be going back to Richmond again, after having to miss the race this year. I will be running the full and plan on just running for fun with a friend who is running her first marathon.
Rehoboth Half Marathon. I had such fun this year that I decided I definitely wanted to go back in 2017.
Have you laid out your racing plans? I know I’ll be adding more to this list but this is a great start!
