I’m so excited for this week’s Friday Five topic: five things about my day. I’m doing this as a day in the life post and super excited. Can’t wait to read all about y’alls days! Also, shout out to all those racing this weekend. We have Rock and Roll here in DC (I’ll be cheering, so look for me at mile 11.5 if you’re running!), the Los Angeles marathon out in California and lots more races. Good luck to all you runners this weekend! Per usual, I’m linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you don’t play nicely, we will delete your link. Have a wonderful weekend!!
6:30am My alarm goes off for 7:10 Pure Barre class. Drag myself out of bed, grab the clothes I left out the night before and head to bathroom to get dressed. While getting dressed, I read my daily devotional. Julie texts me to make sure I’m up and going to class (for early morning classes or runs, we always text before leaving the house).
6:55 Drive to Pure Barre. Meet Julie at class and realize we are wearing the same exact outfit. Take adorable picture before class starts.
8:30 Back home after class, I make my breakfast (oatmeal), sit down with breakfast and a cup of tea and read the news before starting work. I just started getting The Skimm, which gives a good overview of the day’s news. I also read the New York Times (okay, I skim it) and read Law360 news headlines. I usually start working by 9am at the latest and like to try and get a good bit of work done before lunch.
1:00 Break for lunch and walking the dog and then back to work. I have a couple of calls, some research to compile and am working on a proposal for a conference presentation. It’s a busy afternoon that goes by quite quickly.
6:00 Feed the pup and take her for another walk before heating up some leftovers for dinner – pasta in this case. After dinner, I settle in to do some work for my blog – drafting posts, checking in on social media and planning my day for tomorrow while my husband tries to fix a leaky faucet.
9:20 I head to bed to do some reading and be cozy before turning the lights out. Sometimes I use this time period to watch a show – I was watching an episode of House of Cards a night, but I finished (have you watched??) so now I’m catching up on Blackish.
11:30ish Finally tired, I turn the lights out and head to bed.
Whew! I’m not that exciting but sometimes I go to happy hour or dinner with friends, I promise!
