After a big race, how do you adjust to the feeling of having accomplished that particular goal? Do you take it easy for a few days or get right back into a routine? After the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler, I flew to Miami for a work trip and was there for 3 days. While I was out of town, I did lots of walking, but no running and no serious exercise. I ended up wishing I had brought my sneakers — I desperately wanted to go for a slow jog. This past Sunday, I ran the Nike Women’s Half Marathon. I took off on Monday to relax my muscles and stretch out. Now, on Tuesday I’m ready to get back in the saddle. I’m not going to run today (I’ll do that during lunch on Wednesday), but I am going to do a 40 minute barre exercise courtesy of Fitness Blender.
Here’s what I’ll be doing this evening, if you are interested. What is your post race routine?
