Hi friends. After a hard week, last week, I’m happy to have had a really solid week of running. As I write this, I am just two short weeks out from the race and I feel ready (both for the race and for a break!). As you know, each week during this training cycle (I’m training for the B&A Trail Half Marathon – a relatively small, rails to trail half in March), I will share how my training went and what the week looked like. I do this because: 1) I love reading about how other folks train and 2) it’s great for me to have a record of what I did each week. Also, honestly, it helps keep me accountable when I know I’ll be writing about it. I also post almost all of my runs on Instagram as well. I’ve started a weekly link up for Training Recaps – let’s support each other as we train this winter! Please do link up!
Monday: After 3 days of no running, my legs were ready for a run. 4 easy miles with Caitlin and I truly felt like I could’ve run forever. I had missed the run and I was feeling better than the prior week. Pure Barre pop up class after work.
Tuesday: I slept in and ran with Caitlin after work. My booty was sore – I think from my first run after 3 days off + Pure Barre!
Wednesday: Rest day!
Thursday: A speedy tempo run with Leeanne. This one included a 8:08 minute mile — that is NOT usually a time I see. I was just happy to keep up with my fast friend.
Friday: 3 easy miles before a busy weekend. Pure Barre after work – celebrating the 3rd anniversary of the studio!
Saturday: Such a fun day! Got in 6.6 miles before spectating the Rock n Roll DC Marathon / Half Marathon. I LOVE spectating races and always get to see so many of my friends during this one. Always a great, great time. Although it was pretty dang cold, there were lots of PRs and great races by some of my friends and Oiselle teammates! Plus a little yeti action…
Sunday: Ended the week with a little team bRUNch out in Virgina. Ran ten fast miles out on the trail at Burke Lake. It was awesome to run with two of my fellow Oiselle team leads, Jackie and Kathleena. Sunday was an incredibly full day after a full weekend and I am WIPED!
Total mileage for the week: 35.85 miles
Total mileage for the year: 316.29 miles
Total mileage for this training cycle: 439.84 miles
When was the last time you spectated a race?
