Soooo…my friend Hannah of Love Always, Hannah recently nominated me to participate in a blog tour. You know I always love reading these and sometimes love writing them, but when Hannah nominated me, I knew I’d do it. I won’t be nominating anyone (but would love to hear your answers to the answers I’m going to answer!) but happy to take part! First up, though, let me tell you a bit about my girl.
Hannah is kind of amazing. Not only is her blog awesome, but she just launched a brand new website for her boutique event styling / coordination / prop styling / creative consulting company, Piccadilly. You might have seen her name around these parts before because Piccadilly (and Hannah) were our wedding coordinators and they were amazing. For reals. I don’t really know how she does what she does, but she’s the real deal. Outside of her amazing business (seriously, getting married / having an event / want to make something look gorgeous? call her), the girl can sang (yes, read that sentence exactly how it sounds) and has a heart of gold. She’s just fun and talented and one of my favorite people to spend time with. Check her out, y’all!
Okay – on to my questions…
- What am I working on? Um, right now I’m just trying to keep my head above water with my new business, running, being a newlywed and keeping this blog filled with content that inspires me and is fun to read. I’m in the middle of a really busy season, so I’m just taking it in stride. I am looking ahead though to offering a blogging seminar or ebook or something of that nature but that’s probably going to be further down the road than I initially imagined.
- How does my work differ from others in my genre? Well, to be honest, while there are a LOT of running bloggers out there, I think there are enough unique things about me (my background, my writing style, etc.) that I can differentiate myself. That being said, I enjoy reading a variety of running blogs and just hope to add to that variety!
- Why do I write? This is easy. I’ve always loved writing. I find it to be a fantastic way to express myself and I love going back and reading things I wrote a week ago, a month ago or years ago. If I had unlimited time and money, I’d be working on the next great American novel. Well, not really. I’d be working on the next great book that would get labeled as “chick lit” simply because the protagonist is a woman (sorry, it’s one of my pet peeves). 🙂
- How does my writing process work? I have a lot of draft posts with just one or two words. That’s usually the first start for me. I generally have a number of ideas so it’s just finding the time to sit and write. It’s not really a “process,” it’s more me taking ideas and growing them and scanning over my writing in an attempt to proofread.
Wow – that was kinda fun! Thanks so much Hannah! I like posts that give me pause and make me think about why I do what I do, so I enjoyed writing this one!
