Caught a bug…

April 9, 2013 By: project30in20129 Comments

So something happened to me after running a fantastic 10 miler last weekend. I caught the running bug…again. I’ve always liked races and kept to my training schedule (mostly) because I’m terrified of not being able to finish a race. Last year, neither of my major races (the Rock and Roll 1/2 and the Capitol Hill Classic 10k) were that great. I’m not sure quite what it is, but I am now fired up after the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler. The joy that I used to take in running is back. I think that the fact that my training yielded better results is a part of that, but I think the other part is that I’m just starting to dip my toe into the awesome community of runners that is out there. I love having a sense of community and in the lead up (and follow up) to the Cherry Blossom, I connected with some awesome runners. I want to keep that up. So, I’m going to keep running. Even after my half marathon later this month.

I stumbled upon Run Disney during my random internet browsing and now it’s all I want to do. It is officially on my bucket list. I’m especially excited about The Disney Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon, which is a night race with a big party afterwards! It sounds amazing! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to swing it, budget wise, but I’m going to try my hardest. And if not, there are Run Disney events 7 times a year. Y’all — are you excited about this or what? What could be better than an awesome race and Disney??!

Consider the Disney Princess race – I do it every year and it’s SO much fun!

Run Disney sounds so fun! Glad to hear that your 10 miler went well and I’m sure your half will be just as successful! I have my first half marathon this summer and I am already so excited!
