Welcome to my fourth post in a (semi) new monthly series where I will share my blog income and stats with you. I was inspired to do this because I know of some bigger bloggers (like Pinch of Yum) who share their income and stats but I really didn’t see any smaller bloggers (like me! and maybe you!) who do so. I figured if I was looking for something that I wasn’t willing to publish myself that was pretty messed up so decided that I’d start sharing my monthly stats and income. Here’s December’s blog stats and income report – I hope you find this helpful!
In December, income rose but pageviews fell. I am not surprised since I was out of the country for a week and with the holidays, more people were away from their computers. November, I had a crazy 57k pageviews. December saw 48k pageviews. Remember how in November, I noted that the number of pages per session (remember sessions are the number of different visits by all users) were increasing? Well, they increased again from 2.75 in November to 3.53 in December. I’m happy to see that increase and hope it continues to rise!
So with that, here’s the summary of my stats for the month of December:
Ad income: 24.89 (BlogHer) +18.78 (Adsense) = 43.67
Affiliate income: 242
Total December income: $285.67
Total December pageviews: 48,420
Even though my pageviews went down, I added an extra ad unit for BlogHer which explains the rise in income from that ad network. I got paid for affiliate links for BlueHost and Amazon and didn’t get paid for any sponsored posts in December. I’m continuing to try and diversify blog income but was just so busy in December that I really didn’t have a ton of time to devote to things blog related outside of posting. I’m looking forward to putting some plans into place to continue to strengthen the blog – I’m reading a great book on blogging and continually learning more things but it always goes back to the basics: having great content and building a community. That’s always my goal.
How was your blog traffic in December?
I love seeing you post this monthly! Sometimes having people be honest about what they get can be very refreshing for those little guys out there. 🙂
Glad it’s helpful – and I’m definitely one of the little guys 🙂
my page views went down slightly over the holidays I guess that’s normal. Thanks for sharing your info super helpful as always.

my numbers for December were pretty strong but I attribute it to my daily postings during 12 days of Blogmas – plus i had a blogiversary and giveaway in there. Mt PV’s have double from a year ago which is awesome! Good work this month 🙂

Nice job!! I am just started to get around to monetizing a little and reading this helps me a lot. This isn’t my first blog, but it’s the first one where I’ll be using AdSense, etc, so I kind of have no idea what I’m doing haha.

Super interesting to read about the different avenues for earning blog income. I guess it’s something I never really thought about til now!
My blog traffic also went down in December. I think because I posted less and also like you mentioned, people were busy with holiday stuff!
