Unless you’re very new around here, you know I love food and I love running. Oh, and wine – I also love wine. Which is why when I was approached with the opportunity to serve as a Fit Foodie 5K Race Ambassador I jumped at the chance! What’s the Fit Foodie 5K all about?
The concept of the Fit Foodie was born out of the idea that a healthy lifestyle and delicious culinary experiences don’t have to be separate. Calories burned, calories earned, right?? Life is about balance and working hard so that you can indulge in those things that you are passionate about. When delicious food, working out, and good friends are all combined, it is a beautiful culmination of all that life has to offer.
The Fit Foodie 5K Weekend is jam-packed with celebrity chef tastings, cooking and fitness demonstrations, yoga sessions, and a Power Systems fitness bootcamp, all led by celebrity trainers and fitness experts. Also expect to rub elbows with editors and contributors from Cooking Light and Health magazines who will be on hand to share tips and tricks for maintaining a healthy lifestyle, as well as celebrity fitness expert Patrick Goudeau.
I was pretty much all about it once I read that — I mean, I kinda live on the slogan “calories burned, calories earned!” But then I realized that City of Hope is the charity partner and that 10% of all race registrations will be donated to this awesome organization. City of Hope is a leading cancer research organization and I’m happy to be associated with an organization that values giving back!
So are you in? You should be! Sign up online and use code EATPRAYRUNDC for 10% off! It’s going to be SO much fun — did I mention that the food is gonna be spectacular? Yeah – it’s gonna be awesome. Celebrity chef RJ Cooper will be there, along with editors of Health and Cooking Light. Trust me, you aren’t gonna want to miss this! You can just run the 5k, or you can make it a girls’ weekend and stay the whole weekend (that’s my plan!).
Alright DC: who’s in??
