I successfully accomplished #29 on THE List (try a new fitness activity) with my discovery and obsession with Biker Barre on Cap Hill. And while I still love Biker Barre (and have a week of unlimited classes that I will be using in November), I’d have to find a more affordable fitness option. Lucky for me, our building at work just completed work on a brand new gym. Of course the new gym isn’t actually in my office building. It’s in another one owned by the same company about 3 minutes away. I actually see this as a benefit, since it decreases the chance of me running into my boss while I’m wearing spandex.
In honor of this new, pretty swank (for a free office gym, at least) perk, I’ve decided to do a bit of a fitness challenge. For the next 30 days, I will work out at least five days a week. This actually shouldn’t be too much of a challenge, since my average week includes playing football on two separate days. However, I’ll be missing my Saturday football games for the next two weeks, so that means I’ll have to run or get myself to the gym at least four times a week. I’ll report on my progress here and if you have any great gym workouts you’d recommend, let me know! I’m looking for something that’s quick (45 min or less) and easy to replicate with standard gym equipment.
What’s your routine when you go to the gym? Do you go before work, during lunch or after the work day ends? I prefer to just get in over with and go in the morning, but that often conflicts with my strong desire to never leave my bed when it’s dark outside. 🙂
