Five Exercise Full Body Circuit

January 29, 2015 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC52 Comments

Happy Friday! This week’s Friday Five is all about your favorite indoor workouts. As you probably know if you’ve ever read this blog before, my very favorite indoors workout is Pure Barre (curious about a class? Check out this post where I break it all down.) and so since I wrote about Pure Barre very recently, I decided I’d switch it up and share a five exercise full body circuit workout that I’ve created (get it – five moves – five favorite indoor workouts?). Per usual, I’m linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you don’t play nicely, we will delete your link. Seriously. We’ve had a number of people who have been dropping their link, not mentioning the linkup at all and not commenting on ANYONE’S (including the hosts’) blogs. Those links have been deleted and we will continue to delete them. Please follow our rules if you choose to linkup. Okay- bolded rant over. πŸ™‚ Have a great weekend!

This five exercise full body circuit is easy to do anywhere – if you are traveling, in your living room, even in your office (I used to plank in my former office ALLLL the time). It’s an upside ladder workout, so you’ll do each exercise five times through, than four times through, than three and so on and so forth. You can do this circuit just once if you are short on time or you can do it two or three times to really kick it into high gear. Enjoy!

Bolded rants are necessary sometimes. Sorry to hear some aren’t playing nice.
Pushups are such a great exercise all by itself. These five moves together are a real power house.

Circuit workouts kill me every time. I always think I am in great shape, do a workout like this, and the next day am so sore. But it is a good way to add variety and work muscles differently. Thanks for the reminder, I never think to do this kind of workout !

correct and slow is way better than blowing through them with bad form! you are getting way more out of the workout when you focus on doing it correctly! i don’t do them super fast either! i also hate them – BUT they work!

Its amazing how so many small exercises can add up to one, big, powerful workout. So many people think they can’t work out at home if they don’t have gym equipment, which is so far from the truth.

Great workout idea! I’m not a huge burpee’s fan, but that is the brilliance behind circuit workouts:) Your not doing one thing, for such long of a time that you grow to hate it, and I also they circuits go by so much faster, than just one solid workout with less things to change it up.

I’ve never done a Pure Barre class – someday! So, stupid beginner question – what would it look like to do 5 planks? Just hold a plank for a few seconds, and then repeat? Or do 5 of those plank-to-pushup things?
