Happy Friday! This week’s Friday Five is all about your favorite indoor workouts. As you probably know if you’ve ever read this blog before, my very favorite indoors workout is Pure Barre (curious about a class? Check out this post where I break it all down.) and so since I wrote about Pure Barre very recently, I decided I’d switch it up and share a five exercise full body circuit workout that I’ve created (get it – five moves – five favorite indoor workouts?). Per usual, Iβm linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you donβt play nicely, we will delete your link. Seriously. We’ve had a number of people who have been dropping their link, not mentioning the linkup at all and not commenting on ANYONE’S (including the hosts’) blogs. Those links have been deleted and we will continue to delete them. Please follow our rules if you choose to linkup. Okay- bolded rant over. π Have a great weekend!
This five exercise full body circuit is easy to do anywhere – if you are traveling, in your living room, even in your office (I used to plank in my former office ALLLL the time). It’s an upside ladder workout, so you’ll do each exercise five times through, than four times through, than three and so on and so forth. You can do this circuit just once if you are short on time or you can do it two or three times to really kick it into high gear. Enjoy!
Sweet! This is an awesome workout, Courtney! And here I spent time today looking up strength workouts for runners…thanks so much for sharing this with us and hosting another great Friday Five. Hope you have a great weekend!

thanks tara – you have a great weekend too! π
Bolded rants are necessary sometimes. Sorry to hear some aren’t playing nice.
Pushups are such a great exercise all by itself. These five moves together are a real power house.

Haha, thanks Haley for understanding! π push-ups are great alone, you’re totally right!!
I do all these moves but the burpees bc I hate them! But I know they are good for you so I need to start doing them.

i hate them too but put them here because they work!
I love quick workouts like this! They get the heart pumping and you still break a sweat.
Those are great exercise moves for anywhere!! Thanks for hosting your awesome link up! π
great workout-this would be a great way to get your good workout in a short amount of time!
Circuit workouts kill me every time. I always think I am in great shape, do a workout like this, and the next day am so sore. But it is a good way to add variety and work muscles differently. Thanks for the reminder, I never think to do this kind of workout !

I wish I loved burpees. I just feel like a hot mess when I do them. Any tips on how to do them correctly and fast? I can only do correct and slow. Is that better!?
Melanie recently posted…Friday Five: Favorite Indoor Workouts
correct and slow is way better than blowing through them with bad form! you are getting way more out of the workout when you focus on doing it correctly! i don’t do them super fast either! i also hate them – BUT they work!
Great little workout. I need something like that for my “just keep the streak alive” days. One mile of running is hardly a workout LOL.

That’s a great little workout! Will definitely have to try it when I’m just sitting here watching tv some night π

me too – i HATE them but stuck them in to force myself!
I like the simplicity of this workout! Yet it’s an effective full body weight circuit. Thanks for sharing. I’m always looking for new circuits to incorporate into my marathon training to keep muscle tone and over all balance. Have a super weekend!!
Great workout! Check out mine too to have some more fun π

Great ladder circuit, Courtney! Although burpees… ugh. Can I skip that part?
My favorite indoor exercise is Pilates. Stretching and strengthening for the win!
hahaha – they are my least favorite too!
Great circuit workout Courtney! I love planks – they are one of my favorites. Burpees not so much, but I do them because they are good for me π

Its amazing how so many small exercises can add up to one, big, powerful workout. So many people think they can’t work out at home if they don’t have gym equipment, which is so far from the truth.

What a great workout, thanks for sharing! This will perfect for little breaks when I need to get up from my computer.
Great workout idea! I’m not a huge burpee’s fan, but that is the brilliance behind circuit workouts:) Your not doing one thing, for such long of a time that you grow to hate it, and I also they circuits go by so much faster, than just one solid workout with less things to change it up.

Body weight circuits are some of my favorite indoor workouts! I love that you need nothing but yourself to do them, and you can do them whenever and wherever you are!
I really love indoor body-weight exercises as it takes away the excuse of not working out when you have no equipment’s. Awesome post. Thanks for the linkup and have a great weekend ahead !!

Yes, I’d say about right! Minus the crunches though. I prefer V-ups to crunches for all over core/abs.
Since I started doing HIIT, full body workouts are a killer. I think most people will agree when I say burpees are the most difficult, even when I modify them.

Funny story. When my husband and I were engaged we did a burpee countdown… So everyday we did however many days left until the wedding in burpees… Starting at 100!! We don’t do then very much anymore π

I’ve had a few friends try to get me to Insanity classes and the burpees always scare me away. I’m trying to mix in some non-running things so perhaps by summer I’ll be able to do 5 burpees in row without dying. π

I think I’m the only person in the world who actually likes burpees! My trainer makes me do these ladder type circuits all the time – only the reps are much higher π
Mar @ Mar on the Run recently posted…Friday Five: Favorite Indoor Workouts
I’ve never done a Pure Barre class – someday! So, stupid beginner question – what would it look like to do 5 planks? Just hold a plank for a few seconds, and then repeat? Or do 5 of those plank-to-pushup things?
Katie@Run Wild in Alaska recently posted…Friday Five: Favorite Indoor Workouts
you can either hold the plank for a predetermined amount of time (like a minute) or do 5 shorter planks. i do the first option!
Saved! Some mornings when I can’t get to Body Pump due to work scheduling, I need something else to do at home. Although, I’m in a condo above someone else…I may have to replace the burpees. π
