Five favorite Oiselle Pieces

September 15, 2016 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC30 Comments

As most of you know, I’m on the Oiselle team and I’m a big fan of the brand (and company as a whole). I pretty much only run in Oiselle because I love the clothes that much. I often have folks ask me what my favorite Oiselle pieces are and honestly, it’s a fluid answer. It can depend on season and my mood. But since we are talking favorites for this week’s linkup, I figured I’d share my current favorite Oiselle pieces.  Make sure you check out my co-hosts for the linkup – Mar and Cynthia. Have a great weekend – I’ve got a busy one on tap with races and football and hosting a bridal shower, oh my!

Five Fav Oiselle Pieces

  1. Distant shorts. By far my favorite shorts to run in. I have run in these shorts almost every long run and most of my shorter runs. While I love a number of Oiselle shorts (including the stride shorts, which I mention below), the one thing that puts these on the top of the list for me? POCKETS. I can easily run with my phone in my back pocket which I appreciate a bunch. I’ve run multiple marathons with my phone in that back pocket and never had any issue. Plus the shorts are cute and comfy. A total win. (pictured above)
  2. Gifted verrazano bra. It has taken awhile for Oiselle to come up with a bra that works for my body. But boy oh boy did they knock the ball out the park on this one. This bra is SO cute and SO comfortable and holds up SO well. I’ve run speed workouts and long runs wearing just the bra on top. This bra inspired me to join the #sportsbrasquad. No looking back. I already own it in almost every color. It’s that good. For reference, I’m wearing a 10 in the picture below. track work!
  3. Stride shorts. Fun fact. The fancy version of these babies (literally called fancy stride shorts) are pictured in the above shot. They are compression based, which means they don’t move and they are cute. One small pocket which can hold a key or a gel (I’m guessing – I don’t use gels).
  4. The singlet. The piece that started it all. Now there is even a long sleeve version, which I LOVE. It’s breathable, comfy and instantly identifies you as part of the team which is so fun. Love love love it.
  5. Flyte long sleeve. When the temps drop and it’s my fav running weather (long sleeves and shorts), this one is my go to. Comfortable, breathable (noticing a pattern) and cute. It is so great to run in and also just fun to wear around running errands or what not.

What’s your favorite thing to wear while running?

Ooooh shorts with pockets? I need that! I always carry my phone on the run and never have anywhere to store it!

You know, I’ve never tried any Oiselle stuff, but I’ve been meaning to! I’ve been running in a lot of Athleta stuff recently. I love their ready, set, short, and they have a line of compression shorts/capris/tights called “Be Free” that not only have a large pocket in the back, but pockets on the side as well for gels, etc!

You mention you don’t use gels…what do you use for fuel?

Tailwind – it’s wonderful. I’ve never like gels – the consistency doesn’t work for me.

Oiselle makes a lot of cute base layer tanks that I like. As you know I used to run for them a few years ago…it’s been fun to watch them grow now.

I love the look of the Distant Short, but I’d be worried about chafing? I have a few oiselle t-shirts I love!

Not a problem for me – but in the summer / humid weather, I am all about body glide πŸ™‚

I have the Oiselle Rogas, but they are one size too big for me, so they fit kinda loose. But I have a pair that will be perfect for marathons if only I a) had one on the radar and b) was one size bigger!

I have two Oiselle shirts from years ago and love them! My favorite thing to wear while running is a tank and shorts. I reluctantly start adding layers as the temps get colder! πŸ™‚

    Thanks for the linkup!

Shorts with pockets, and your phone doesn’t fall out of them?!? That’s definitely a winning article of running clothing!

I’ve had my Fancy Stride shorts for a few weeks and LOVE them! I’m not ready to get rid of my old old shorts that needed replacing, but at least I have another pair of compression shorts that I love to wear.

I’m a fan of Under Armour t-shirts (thank you Baltimore Running Festival!) and REI long shorts (which also come with a zippered back pocket, just not big enough for my phone).

I have a pair of Oiselle shorts and one shirt. I really like both things a lot. I’m not particular on any brands really, but both pieces fit really well and seem like good quality. I’d definitely buy Oiselle stuff again. I think mine are the flyte shorts and the shirt says 5K on it. The shorts have a pocket and I do like that.

Side note: I went back and read your previous posts and think you’re gonna rock that marathon. Your training has been SOLID. Not just the paces and runs but the mental aspect as well… it really shows through on your posts on Instagram and your workout log. I can’t wait to see how you do and definitely post a recap. Hansons works!

I’m a big fan of rogas – finally running shorts that don’t ride up! And then the Flyte tank and Verra bras. The new Black Widow bra also is a favorite. And my Moto jacket. I’m looking forward to trying aero tights soon.

Athletic brands seem to bring out lots of interesting conversations about what does or does not work for a runner. I personally love the Lululemon clothing because it fits me well. I do buy other brands, in fact I have several Brooks tanks that I like a lot. I’ve never tried Oiselle, but I think it is similarly priced to Lulu.

I don’t know how you were able to narrow it down to just five items. Everytime I buy something new I swear it’s my new favorite πŸ™‚ Currently, I’m roga obsessed. I wear them casually, hike in them and have yet to wear anything else for a race this summer!

Long rogas for me. I have them in pretty much every color but am hoping soon they’re be available in purple/violet and yellow. I love anything lux too. I had two flyte long sleeves that I sold to make room for more stuff to buy. Have you seen the new stuff that is available?
