Happy Friday, y’all! I’m so excited about this week’s Friday Five. We are asking for you to share your fitness inspirations. I have so many fitness inspirations, so it was hard to limit it to just five. I thought I’d do a bit of a different twist and share what inspires me rather than who. Per usual, Iβm linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you donβt play nicely, we will delete your link. Have a great weekend!
- A beautiful sunrise. There is something about being outside running while the sun rises that just inspires me to get out there and keep at it. The beauty is just stunning and breathtaking at times. I feel so blessed to be able to experience nature that I’m inspired to keep doing it.
- Quiet time with Jesus. When I’m running solo, I’m having some quiet time and it’s so incredible that I want to do it more. I’m actually torn because I LOVE running with friends, and so I’m always sad when I can’t, but sometimes (if I’m not doing speed work or anything crazy hard), I can just have the most honest time with Jesus and it’s awesome!
- Feeling strong. Honestly, there are few things I enjoy more than crossing a finish line. Feeling strong and accomplished is addictive and it’s that feeling that keeps me racing time and time again. And the races keep me training – time and time again.
- The knowledge that others are watching. I have a teenage niece. And young girls I mentor. And all those young people are paying attention. They are listening, but more so, they are watching. And maybe if they see someone who is never going to win a race, but works hard and runs for the love of running, they will be inspired. Maybe it will encourage them in some small way.
- The cute gear. It’s no secret that I love Oiselle clothes. A lot. But I also motivate myself and am inspired by things like this Garmin I’m coveting, running shoes that both get the job done and look good and more. It sounds superficial, but I know I’m not the only one!
What (or who) inspires you?
Love your fitness inspirations! I feel the same exact way about watching the sunrise on a run, nothing quite like it.

Sunrise – or sunset! I like feeling strong. And maybe someday someone will be watching me, if I get involved with a group (no little people in my life otherwise). It’d be amazing to be an inspiration to someone else.
Happy Friday!

Not just a beautiful sunrise but beautiful weather in general inspires me. I just seem to love life so much more!
i totally agree!
I love a morning run seeing the sun rise. Though on my run yesterday, i started and finished before the sun. Not looking forward to that aspect of fall / winter.

I love running and seeing the beautiful sunrises. I am mesmerized by God’s beauty. I am also inspired by how much I have accomplished and how much more I am still reaching for. I have to remind myself that I am my biggest cheerleader.

you have to be your own biggest cheerleader — what a great reminder!
I’m with you — a beautiful sunrise usually does it for me. I’m also a morning person, so what better way to enjoy the sunrise and that quiet time of the day than going for a run?

oddly enough i’m not a morning person but run in the morning out of necessity π
The sunrise, and the peace is right on my favorites too! I find running allows me more time to appreciate what I am actually seeing and surrounded by, thing I would overlook at other times!

Love that you shared your quiet time! I find if I can start the day with a workout, followed by prayer & Bible reading with my mug of coffee then no matter where the day takes me I am prepared!

Great list of inspirations. Sadly, I never see the sunrise on my runs as I’m so NOT a morning person and don’t get up that early. Sounds amazing though!

Love it Courtney! You’re always inspiring. Okay, I agree about the clothes, and that was in my top 5 too! Those sunrises are unforgettable. I love how you have so many girls and women looking up to you, and what an amazing example you’re setting for them. You are a real, genuine, beautiful person, and I’m happy we’re friends! #fitfam
