5. Ride the pain train. This is what I told myself while running a tough 5k on New Year’s Day. I wanted to embrace the fact that I was pushing myself and it was supposed to hurt…and it worked – I PR’ed!
4. Just do it. I know, it’s kinda cheesy to quote Nike – but honestly strip away all the excuses and all you have left is the action.
3. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. With my new word for 2014 (bold), I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit. What opportunities might you have missed out on just because you didn’t try?
2. Don’t think – just run. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I can overthink everythng about running. Can I do this? Should I do this? How’s my pace? How’s my form? Am I cold? Am I hungry? The list is endless. I have to remind myself to shut up, get out of my head and just run.
