Friday Five: Valentine’s Day Edition!

February 14, 2014 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC18 Comments

Happy Valentine’s Day! No matter how you feel about Valentine’s Day (personally I think it’s an overly commercialized day with little to no real significance), you probably still feel okay about love. Whether it’s romantic love, familial love or friend love, I hope you all have someone special that you love. Today, the DC Trifecta (Mar, Cynthia and I) are celebrating LOVE! We are all celebrating it in our own way and I encourage you to do the same. I’m highlight five ways you can love the runner in your life!

v day friday five

  1. Pay for a race entry!
  2. Post long run planning – make sure your runner has an ice bath (if they do that), and their favorite post run snack ready after their weekend long run.
  3. Cheer them on during a race. Nothing is better than seeing a friendly face at mile 19!
  4. Have awesome race gear waiting for them at the finish — AND flip flops. Giving them a new shirt + flip flops at the finish = true love.
  5. Let them talk about runningย all the time.ย They will love you forever. Thanks, K ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, all these little things certainly mean a lot! ( And I agree with you about it being a commercialized day)! But in any case, Happy Valentine’s day!

Yes to all of those! Especially just being there on race day. Sometimes seeing a familiar face is just the boost you need to get through a race!

You are funny – let them talk about running all the time. LOLOL! I say a great way to show love IS to pay for a race entry fee. Those things are expensive!

These are all great! My husband has been having hot tea ready for me after my cold morning runs and I’ve definitely appreciated that!

Haha I love this list!! The #1 way for me to tell if someone loves me is if they’ll come to one of my races lol. If they can sit through a Half marathon and then listen to me retell tghe entire race over and over again….well that’s love ๐Ÿ™‚

Love this list, particularly #3 and #5. I also love getting text messages during the race.. save them for “tough times” or when I need some motivation.
