This week’s Friday Five theme is love because, well Valentine’s Day. I’m not huge on this particular holiday but I do like those little candy hearts (the chewy ones that are red with the sugar on them – yeah, those) so there’s that. So I thought I’d do a fun spin on our “love” theme and share a few last minute gifts for the lover in your life (note that all these gifts are things you can definitely treat YOURSELF to…because we all know you can’t really love anyone else if you don’t love yourself!). Per usual, I’m linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you don’t play nicely, we will delete your link.Seriously. We’ve had a number of people who have been dropping their link, not mentioning the linkup at all and not commenting on ANYONE’S (including the hosts’) blogs. Those links have been deleted and we will continue to delete them. Please follow our rules if you choose to linkup. Okay- bolded rant over. There are a few affiliate links in the items below – but nothing that I don’t personally own (or want depending on the item) and love! Have a great weekend!
- A Kindle for your book lover! The Fire HD 6
is actually on sale for $84 right now. This is super special for me because K actually got me a Kindle for Valentine’s Day two years ago and I love that thing. The Fire was pretty new back then and this was the perfect gift because I love to read but have NO ROOM for new books. This would be a guaranteed winner! Trust me 🙂
- Perfume for your fragrance lover! Christian Dior J’adore is my absolute favorite scent but you should probably go with what your gal (or guy) likes best.
- A subscription for your food lover! I’ve heard great things about Love with Food and Plated. And then of course there’s also the Wine of the Month Club (gift ideas here: Valentine Gift Ideas for Him & Her from Wine of the Month Club). I’m still waiting for someone to sign me up…
- Some gear for your fitness lover! A gift card to their favorite apparel shop, a new GPS watch, sign them up for a race…the options are endless!
- And because I’d never leave pups out of the mix, some fun stuff for your animal lover. Sasha really just wants bacon, but she’ll probably get a new toy or two this weekend. I thought this Dinosaur Chew Toy
was cute. She’ll also probably get some bully sticks. Because she’s obsessed with them and who am I to crush her dreams? 🙂
Any big plans this weekend?
Well, of course SASHA needs a Valentine’s Day treat!!! 😉 This is a great list, Courtney! I always tell Jonathan that he should be thankful I’m a runner; there are ALWAYS gifts to buy for a runner, right? Hope you have a great weekend and thanks so much for another great Friday Five!

you are so right – there are ALWAYS gifts to buy for runners! lucky for our husbands 🙂
I’ve always wanted a Kindle. I think this would rekindle (ha ha) my love of reading. It’s faded in the last few years. I’ll have to drop a big hint to the hubs. Of course the doggies need a Valentine treat too! They supply so much love.

I’ve thought of getting Bill a wine of the month gift subscription, but never have. One of these days…
I have a race at South Lakes High School on Saturday. I may not be fast, but at least I’ll be running! I can’t wait!
Debbie @ Deb Runs recently posted…Five Things I Love About My Favorite Runner
South Lakes – that’s where the Reston 10 Miler is, right? Have a great race!! It’s gonna be cold – dress warmly!
Yes it is the same high school as the Reston 10-Miler. I’m thankful that we’ll be able to stay inside until just before the race starts. 🙂
Debbie @ Deb Runs recently posted…Five Things I Love About My Favorite Runner
yes, that’ll be very nice on this cold weekend!!

You are so right — there is never enough 🙂
I have a kindle and I love it. When I moved, after 10 years in the same apartment, and threw out a TON of books, I immediately knew that Kindle was the solution. I love it. Weekend plans ? Flying to Florida for vacation!

Oooh enjoy!! Try a Pure Barre while you’re in the states 🙂
Ooooh that Kindle deal is pretty tempting! I really want one, but for some reason I can’t get myself to actually buy one. I may have to check that out though!

It’s the best. And that’s a really good deal! I get so much use out of mine!
Yes, we can’t forget about our Pets! I’ve never heard of Bully Sticks. Our dogs get Busy Bones and they go crazy for them. I hope Sasha ( and you and K) all enjoy the day! -M
Aw thanks – you too! Have a great weekend 🙂
No a big fan of Valentine’s Day either, but I did buy a box of chocolates for Tom He has a very large sweet tooth. I guess I need to get to the pet store so little Lulu does not feel deprived. Actually, if I cut her a carrot she will be more than thrilled. I have a weird dog!

We are headed to NYC to celebrate being together for 22 years. Today’s our “dating” anniversary and we usually celebrate that vs Valentine’s. Have a super weekend!

That’s awesome! Happy anniversary!!
Ok, so my list might include candy… 🙂 This is my first time linking up (altough I have been a long time reader of these Friday Fives!!) Happy Valentine’s Day (and Friday the 13th!)

You’re welcome! I hope you don’t mind, but I just sent you an email for some advice. 🙂 Just wanted to give you a heads up (based off of your comment on my blog.)
Great ideas! Last year my husband gave me a ridiculous huge box of chocolates – like 2 feet across! He just wanted to do something fun.
Coco (@Got2Run4Me) recently posted…Five Ways To Love Your Heart
That is hilarious! And a ton of candy 🙂
We aren’t big on Valentine’s Day either, but I wouldn’t turn down nice token of appreciation from the hubby 😉 I’ve never smelled that perfume you are talking about. I would love a new perfume, I haven’t had one in YEARS!
I discovered it years ago and love it. It’s my “signature scent” 🙂
Perfume is always nice and chocolate-that’s the way to my heart. Happy V-Day 🙂

FITNESS GEAR DEFINITELY! We don’t really do the whole Valentines Day thing, but Mr. Salt got me a really nice new pair of gloves to wear when I run. I think we fitness lovers are probably pretty easy for our significant others to shop for. 🙂

We don’t do anything for Valentine’s Day at our home because our daughter’s birthday is the 9th and then we’re broke haha! Seriously, I don’t need one day for my spouse to know I love him. We show each other all the time. (I do love me some candy hearts though haha!)
How terrible people would leave their link but not link back and participate 🙁 I try to read & comment on as many as I can. So sad.
Amy @ Mama Running for God recently posted…Five Things I’m Loving Lately
All great gift ideas, especially the gift cards, race registrations, and and new fitness gear. As for big plans this weekend – we’ll be spending Valentine’s Day at a car dealer (I know, super romantic) and hopefully leaving with a very expensive present to each other, a new car for me to replace the one we lost in the accident.

Oh, the kindle deal!!! I might upgrade mine. I love mine! Perfume is a great idea too. Love love love Chance from Channel (been using for years and years). I promise to mention YOU too (besides Cynthia) on next Friday five or Tri Tuesday, now that we “officially met”. Happy Valentines!!! 🙂
