If you’ve checked out my Running page lately (you can find it here), you might have noticed that I have a new addition in November. Yes, for the third year in a row, I will be heading back to Richmond, this time to race the Half Marathon. If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you might recall that Richmond was the place of my first and third full marathons and that I LOVE that race.
I was considering going back to Richmond this fall, but then when I was asked to be one of the first official Richmond bloggers (along with Emma, who I’ve followed for years…ps she’s running her first full at Richmond – I’m so excited for her!), I couldn’t say no. Richmond is an incredible race experience and there’s a reason I keep going back each year. This year, I’m so excited to get to experience the half marathon (I confess that I did think about the full marathon again but decided to be semi sensible since I’m running two marathons in October) for the first time. I know it’s a fantastic course (much of it I’ve run during the full) and it will be really nice to finish a race in Richmond and not have dead legs. 🙂 I’m so excited to be blogging about my experience and look forward to a post every few weeks about why Richmond is great, my training plan, and other tips and tricks for running Richmond.
If you are still planning your fall racing calendar, I’d strongly encourage you to run Richmond — not only is it a beautiful course, but the swag is awesome (for both the half and the full: a hat, a blanket – seen above, and a long sleeve technical shirt), the people of Richmond are so friendly and supportive and it’s a wonderful weekend in a fun city. Race day is November 14th and I’d love to see you out there.
What is your favorite race? Richmond is by far my favorite race experience, ever!
