Ice Queens/Kings

December 9, 2012 By: project30in20121 Comment

Day 9 of 31 Days of Project 30!

I love fun winter activities. And spending time with friends. That’s why last night I thought it would be fun to check out the new Canal Park Ice Skating Rink. I had plans to visit friends who live literally across the street from the Ice Rink, and figured why not invite more friends to join in the exercise / winter fun? So four of us trekked out to Canal Park and for just $11 a person ($8 admission and $3 ice skate rental) we were in! The new ice rink is in the shape of a figure 8, which is interesting. It’s about 2 blocks from the Navy Yard Metro station and free parking was plentiful. We had an absolute blast!

Pretty lighted trees in the middle of the rink.

Skate rental! I don’t have an up close shot of the skates, but they were much nicer than I remember. My first job was at an ice skating rink and our skates were pretty gross. These were nice!

I don’t feature pictures of him much on the blog, but this was a cute one! Yay ice skating!! What’s your favorite winter activity?

P.S. If you are looking out for after pictures of the tree, you’ll have to give  me a bit of grace with that. Very soon, though, I promise!
