Joining the Flock

August 6, 2013 By: project30in201228 Comments

About a month ago, I dreamed a big dream. I wanted to join a team of athletes representing my favorite women’s running apparel brand, Oiselle (pronounced wa-zell and is a french word for bird). If you aren’t familiar with Oiselle, you should be. Not only are the clothes AMAZING (big praise from a girl with ample thighs :)), this company simply gets it. Oiselle supports both extraordinarily talented runners with Olympic goals and middle-of-the-pack runners.

oiselle

Here’s a bit about the team – in words that are much more eloquent than I could describe myself ๐Ÿ™‚

Oiselle is all about helping women run free and fast! Currently we have 150 women from across the country who represent our brand as they train and race toward their running goals. Above all, we seek teammates who – like us – see running not just as a sport, but as a life philosophy. And who are excited about bringing this energy to their own community. A sisterhood of strength.

I am all about community and particularly have a heart for connecting with other amazing women (what can I say, I’m an Agnes Scott grad!). So I applied to join the team and tried to put my crazy big dream out of my head. And then…

While on vacation, I got a couple of messages from running buddies, asking if I’d heard anything yet. I realized it was August 1, and announcements were scheduled to be out soon. Then as soon as I remembered, I went back to lounging on the beach and forgot. Until, I opened my email and saw this:

ot announcement

Sometimes it’s great to be reminded that you are capable of setting big dreams and goals and seeing them fulfilled. I am so thrilled to join this amazing team and so inspired already by the amazing women I’ll be calling teammates. Expect to hear much more in the future.

What is your big, crazy dream? Are youย pursuingย it?ย

Sooooooooooo happy for you!! It feels GREAT to set those “will-it-really-happen?” goals and then ACHIEVE them!! I’m sure you know it well – what God puts in our hearts, He sees through to fruition. So wonderful when we witness it firsthand. AWESOME!!!
