Sundays are good for musing, right? I thought so and so thought I write a second Life Lately post and just share a few things going on with me. As you may have figured out, I spent most of the week in Chicago for a professional conference (where I had the honor to present) and I had the best time. Chicago is one of my favorite cities and I enjoyed being out in the Mid-West. So, outside of my conference, what else has been going on?
K and I moved into a larger home a few weeks ago and it’s been great. Even though we’ve been married since June, moving into a home that was new to both of us really has made it feel like we are for real for real married, if that makes sense. We’ve bought some new furniture and this weekend we got my nice dining room table that had been living at my parents’ house in MD for years (6 to be exact!) since I never had enough room for it. It’s nice to be building and creating things that are new to us.
I have some travel coming up this summer and I’m trying to manage all the various trips I’ll be taking. I need to solidify a few things and get some flights booked but the organizing part is fun for me so yay!
I’m also starting a new blogging course – I’m excited to share more about it with you all soon. I love to read and learn about blogging and as I’ve mentioned before I’m a big fan of Ruth Soukup, author of a super popular blog and the book How to Blog For Profit without Selling Your Soul and once I learned she has a course on blogging I quickly signed up. The course is self led in terms of time and schedule but our first session kicks off this week and I.can.not.wait!
Finally, the other thing on my mind is less fun. Stupid allergies have been off the chain this spring and I’m hoping the local honey I picked up this weekend will do the trick because the meds are NOT working for ya girl.
Anyone have success using local honey? Have you taken a blogging course? What’s occupying your mind today?
I’m so glad you enjoyed Chicago! That blogging course sounds intriguing. I guess if I want to grow mine, I’m going to have to get educated. I’m not sure about the whole ads thing. This is still a work in progress. I started my blog because I love to write and interact with other bloggers. I guess we’ll see where it goes.

I’ll definitely share my thoughts once I’m done!! π loved being in your city – I love Chicago!
Hi Courtney! Well, life lately has been 3rd grade teacher stuff-end of year testing, grading papers ect. As allergy season approaches I use raw, local honey and local bee pollen capsules. Enjoy your blogging course!

Yes!! We need a date – I still have your water bottle π
Congrats on the big milestone of the house! My hubby and I are celebrating 8 years of marriage tomorrow. We are cooking a nice dinner tonight since worknights are soooo busy. Hope the honey works for you…I don’t have any experience with it other than some anecdotal stories.

i had two good runs while i was there! such fun π
Good luck with those allergies! I haven’t had them in a few years. Although today I was at a shopping center and there were cherry blossoms all over the parking lot. As I was walking to my car it was making my nose itch. I thought “how do the DC gals handle this all spring…lol”
omg, girlllll…let me tell ya, it has been ROUGH! i’m cautiously optimistic w/the local honey though π
Congrats on moving into your new place. I know exactly what you mean about finding a place that’s new to both of you. We lived in my husbands house for 3 years and it never really felt mine until we bought one together! Sorry your allergies are acting up, so are mine. I’ve had great luck with essential oils!!
Oh which ones? I do think the local honey is helping so far!
