This week was a really solid week in terms of training. I was happy with my times and for the most part felt good during each run. I’ve been experiencing some odd ankle pain, but hopefully that is on its way out. Here’s how the week went…
Monday: Rest day.
Tuesday: 4 miles steady. 41:05
Wednesday: Rest day.
Thursday: 4 miles. The first 2 miles at faster than marathon pace. Fartleks through miles 3-3.5 with a strong finish. 39:29
Friday: 3 miles. Was supposed to do 4, but my legs were exhausted and I decided to take it easy. 31:03
Saturday: 8 miles. Unexpectedly fast, with an 10:08 average pace. Had half a piece of bread with peanut butter before starting and one shot block / gu at mile 5. Felt pretty good and ran up my nemesis (Capitol Hill) at mile 7. 1:21:16 Check out my splits below:
Sunday: Rest day.
Total: 19 miles plus planks and squats each day.
