MCM Training Recap Week 6

July 22, 2015 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC26 Comments

Week 6 was another solid week and I’m happy to share about it today (a couple days late, I know!). If you’ll recall, I’m going to use Wineglass as a long training run and so I’m really gearing towards MCM. Since my goal race is now a couple of weeks later, it’s giving me a bit of an extra cushion with my training, which is helpful because I’m traveling quite a bit over the next month or so. Here’s my week six training recap!

marathon training recap

Monday: Pure Barre

Tuesday: 5 miles total (3 in the morning, and 2 in the afternoon), plus a bit of pool time. Those afternoon miles sucked, but they happened!

Wednesday: Pure Barre in the morning and a track workout in the evening. Oof. This was tough. 3×800, 3×600, and 3×400 with 400m recovery in between sets. My legs felt like lead. 6.2 miles in total.

post track

Thursday: Pure Barre

Friday: 10 mile long run down early before a flight to Atlanta. It was a good run and it was nice to get my run done for the weekend.

Saturday: 4 mile race – Dekalb Decatur 4 miler. I met some Atlanta Oiselle gals and had a good recovery run!

Sunday: Pure Barre

I ended the week with just over 25 miles and 4 barre classes.

This week, I’m out of town for a conference and just trying to get in two runs while I’m gone. Then I’ll be back in DC for my long run this weekend. Yay!

Tell me about your best workout this past week! Mine was Pure Barre Sunday in Atlanta with my friend (and former DC Pure Barre instructor and current Atlanta Pure Barre instructor) Sydney and my bestie Megan.

I actually love when I can get in a long run on a Friday. A few times during the school year, in the fall, I’ve done 10 milers. I hear the WineGlass marathon is a beautiful race!

Great track workout!! And in the evening when it was probably pretty hot, nice work! My best run last week had to be my 10k on Sunday. Legs felt great despite the heat and humidity and had fun! Happy travels this week again!

Yay for a great week! Impressed you got 4 PB classes in too. I’m updating my plan (well migrating to another similar plan) since I missed my run last week.

That’s a great week of training for week 6. Good luck with your travel, that can always make it more difficult to keep up with a training plan.

It would be hard to pick my favorite workout last week because I spent it at Blogfest and IDEA World, where I was doing about three workouts a day! I’d probably pick the HighX workout with Gabrielle Reece though, because it was fun, challenging, and well, celebrity!

Nicely done on your workouts! That track workout sounds like it would have been tough. I love all the Barre workouts!

Having been at BlogFest, I had a lot of great workouts. I’d have to say HIghX with Gabby Reece was the most fun! But my BEST workout of the week was probably my heavy leg day I had on Sunday. I took some time off heavy weight training for a few months while I trained for my triathlon, so it felt sooo good to get back and hit the heavy iron! I was sore until Thursday!
