MCM Training Recap Week Ten

August 17, 2015 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC24 Comments

Wow, I can’t believe we’re already so far into training! This past week was really interesting because (if you follow me on Instagram, you already know this) I ventured out west for running camp with my Oiselle team gals (I’m actually still at camp for another glorious day or so!). Luckily, when you go on a vacation that is centered around running, you don’t have to worry about getting your runs in!

marathon training recap

This was a really solid week: here’s my week ten marathon training update!

Monday: Pure Barre class

Tuesday: 5 mile run. 2 miles solo and 3 miles with Pacers for their Shake Shack Run.

Wednesday: 6.15 track workout. 1 mile warm up, 1 mile tempo, 3×1400 with a 200m recovery, and 3×200 with a 200m recovery, .5 mile cooldown.

Thursday: 5 hour flight to Seattle for Bird camp – rest day

Friday: A four mile run around Green Lake in Seattle!

Saturday: Bird Camp 5k! Such fun!

Sunday: A truly epic 12 mile run up and down a mountain. Literally. So amazing!

It was a fantastic week of training and I honestly felt so lucky to be running in the Pacific Northwest with the cool temps and low humidity. I will be processing all my thoughts on Bird Camp and all the awesomeness over the next few days so be on the lookout for some recaps and highlights from camp soon!

Overall, I ended the week with just over 30 miles, which I feel really really great about! Especially because after our epic long run, we hopped into the river for a cool down ice bath. The water was LITERALLY freezing cold, but it did our muscles good!

How was your week of training? Ice baths in freezing cold water – yay or nay?

What a beautiful place to run! Whenever there is a cold body of water I love to put my legs in after a run–it’s an instant cool down and not to mention, it beats an ice bath in the bath tub πŸ™‚

Great week of training! The views look spectacular- no wonder the long run went so well! I am working on building my base so 25.5 miles for last week for me. I am currently not training for a big race but enjoying getting out there consistently and building up my base. Looking forward to hearing about Bird Camp as a fellow Oiselle Team member πŸ™‚
