Music Makes me Lose Control!

October 29, 2013 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC22 Comments

Bonus points to the first one of y’all to identify the song that title is from! Soooo I am looking for music suggestions for my marathon playlist. I’ll share what songs I currently have and please add some tips. My sweet friend Stefanie gifted me an iTunes gift card so I can create a new playlist (and also suggested Eye of the Tiger — great song!) and I plan to do just that!

I already have some popular songs on my playlist, like Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, Katy Perry’s “Roar”, etc. But I’d love to hear what you are listening to now that really pump’s you up! I’m mostly interested in fun, upbeat songs that make me feel like this:

So, hook a girl up and let me know what I should add to my marathon playlist!

What’s your GO TO song right now?Β

I have a very eclectic mix on my playlists but a few of my favorites are Lump and a remake of Video Killed the Radio Star (Presidents of the United States of America), All the Small Things (Blink 182), I Wanna Be Sedated (Ramones), Here It Goes Again (OK Go) and Bezerk (Eminem). Good luck with the marathon.

Holland is glad to see Roar is already on your list! I’ll recommend Selena Gomez – Who Says, so you can think of me during the race πŸ™‚ And Party in the USA so you can think of blasting it from our condo.

Looks like you already have some great ones. Have you ever checked out the site jog.fm – it’s really cool. You can put a pace that you want to run in and it spits out a list of songs that have that beat.

Haha- “Lose Yourself” is my jam!

I’m a pop girl, but these sort of oldies get me going:

    Anything Britney
    “Cry Me a River”- JT
    “Jai Ho!”- The Pussycat Dolls
“What Makes You Beautiful” One Direction
    “Come on Over” Christina Aguilera
    “Escape” Enrique
    “Breakout” Miley
“Man in the Mirror” MJ (or the Glee cover πŸ™‚ )
    “TGIF” Katy Perry

    Good luck!

“Let it Rock”, “Got Money” and a more recent “Phoenix” are a few that were on my most recent half marathon list. “Applause” was pretty decent too, even though I had doubts at first that it would pump me up.
