Well last week involved a lot of physical activity…just not a whole lot of running. And ya know, I’m kind of okay with it. Life happens sometimes and I’m not gonna get down about it. Especially with my new “take it in stride” philosophy I discussed last week. So this week, along with my (short) training recap, I’m going to share a few pics from the weekend of fun I had in Atlanta. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably realized I was in my dear friend Megan’s wedding this wedding. K and I drove down Thursday and just got back late last night. It was an awesome weekend and I’m exhausted, which is totally the sign of a good party π BTW, I’m also linking up with Tara, so please go check out here site!
Tuesday: speedwork: 2×1600 (8:19, 8:31), 2×800 (8:17 for both of them). plus a mile warm up and a mile cool down. Including warm up and cool down, it was 5 miles at a 9:09 pace. This was the second week in a row that Julie and I hit our goal track times and I was pretty excited about that!
Wednesday: 1.5 mile walk
Thursday K and I drove down to Atlanta with a stop on the way at Cracker Barrel. Sadly, we didn’t stay to eat, but rather wanted to pick up an audio book. Did you know you can buy an audio book at Cracker Barrel and then return it to any Cracker Barrel in the country within a week and then only pay a $3.50 rental charge?? How amazing is that?
Friday: Flywheel barre class with the bride-to-be, Megan. I intended to run before class, but our ten hour drive to Atlanta turned into twelve hours and I needed a bit more sleep. Class was really fun! It was a private bachelorette class for Megs, which I loved. A great workout with my friend – super awesome.
Friday night we had the rehearsal and then the rehearsal dinner, plus a visit to Megan and David’s favorite bar after that. Look at the beautiful bride-to-be:
Saturday was filled with the most beautiful wedding. Megan and David had a great day and I was really honored to be there and celebrate with them. Because I was up there standing with my friend, I don’t have any pictures from the wedding but can’t wait to see the professional ones because Megan was gorgeous. And obviously I was WAY too busy dancing to take pictures at the reception π What a great weekend.
This weekend, I’m running the Leesburg 20k. I plan on running 3 times this week, but nothing too crazy. I’m using the 20k as a reality check point and to see if sub 2 is actually attainable. π Happy Monday!
I went to Atlanta too for the weekend. It was a short lay over for work so I didn’t do too much. And yes I knew you could buy audio books at Cracker Barrel. When I was younger my friend’s parents always did that on road trips. It really passes the time!

Courtney, I’m so glad y’all had fun in Atlanta!! Saw some of the pics of you all on Instagram and all of you looked so beautiful. What a great pre-wedding idea to have the gals go to a private exercise class – that’s so cool. I think this weekend’s race will be interesting; can’t wait to hear how it goes, and I’ll be cheering for you! π Thanks so much for linking up today!

I LOVE weddings and am so jealous of you for getting to be in one… I haven’t managed that since I was a 5 year old flower-girl at my aunt’s wedding. Impressed with getting in an exercise class after a 12 hour drive as well! Good luck at this weekend’s race π

It sounds like a fun weekend! And life is all about priorities and sometimes there are things that have to come before running π I had no idea that you could rent audio books from Cracker Barrel like that so thanks for that tidbit.

Sounds like it was a great weekend! Aren’t audiobooks the best? Sometimes, I enjoy audiobooks more than if I had read the book myself… A good narrator makes all the difference.

Neat on the 20K – I’ve never done an event that distance! Glad you had fun and kept it active on your trip. How cool that she did a barre class for her pre-wedding fun.

i literally probably danced the equivalent of five miles at the wedding π
Have fun with the 20K–I ran it last year and it’s easily one of my favorites-okay so I’m a little biased being from the area–but it’s a beautiful and organized race!

wow great times for the track workout! 1600 repeats are tough. I’ve only done them once before and I thought I was going to die lol I’m currently on week 2 of half marathon training so no track workouts for me yet π
