It seems that everywhere I look these days, there is a yoga challenge. This brand or that ambassador program or that yogi is hosting a 30/60/100 day challenge. Everyone is doing all kinds of poses that I can’t pronounce and it’s all about #yogaeverydamnday. Well, not for this blogger. I hereby declare that I will NOT be doing a yoga challenge (you know, unless I change my mind and decide to do one) – that’s right no yoga challenge for this gal.
Did I mention that I’m terrible at yoga? Oh I didn’t? Well, I am. And I’m not being modest or exaggerating. You know, how graceful and awesome my friend Salt looks when she does yoga poses? Yeah – just imagine the exact opposite of that. I’m so bad that generally it’s just not fun for me.
- In general, I don’t have a big problem with bandwagons, but this yoga challenge bandwagon is not one I wish to jump on. See the aforementioned reason but also I’m kind of annoyed that no one has done a different challenge to give some options to those of us who don’t want to do yoga every day.
- I already post run / barre photos of me almost every day. I’m not sure if my Instagram friends could handle more fitness awesomeness (well, let’s be honest, it’d be fitness awkwardness since I suck at yoga) every day.
- I wasn’t joking when I said I can barely pronounce some poses. And I don’t have time to learn Sanskrit right now, guys. Remember – I’m trying to learn Spanish!
- I’m terrible enough at yoga that it deserves mention twice. No one wants to see that. And I have no desire for one of my yoga pictures to become some meme…
So tell me, are you currently doing a yoga challenge? Why or why not?
