Day 7 of 31 Days of Project 30!
Okay, okay, I know that Portlandia is about Portland, Oregon not Portland, Maine (where I am currently writing this blog post) but hey – minor detail right? So, it’s Friday and I’m in Portland for a quick business trip and thought I’d share just a few highlights of my trip with you for today’s post.
This is my second trip to Portland and it truly is just one of the cutest cities I’ve been to. Downtown by the waterfront are cobblestone streets, cute unique shops (I may have purchased a Christmas gift or two this trip) and great restaurants. The last time I was here was still lobster season and I indulged in a delicious lobster roll from Portland Lobster Company. Yummy! This time, I had no idea where I wanted to have dinner so I wandered around downtown taking in the lights. See how cute it is?
After strolling around for about 30 minutes, I was absolutely freezing so I ducked into The Salt Exchange to get some grub and warm up. I had a delicious Seafood Stew that I would’ve photographed had I not eaten it in about five minutes. Also, they had Casablanca playing on the TV behind the bar. Perfection.
Portland’s not DC, but for a quick respite from the hustle and bustle, I’ll take it.
