Post Honeymoon Hunger: Problem Solved!

December 18, 2014 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC

As most of y’all know, I recently returned from my week long honeymoon. It was amazing and I loved every minute of it. However, I was in quite the pickle when we finally got back home at 10pm. We’d been gone for over a week so we purposefully ate up everything in the house before we left – you know, like one does before they head out on vacation. Which meant when we returned, I was starving and had NO desire to leave the house…I know you’ve all been there.

Enter the solution…I had some of the new Special K Chewy Snack Bars on hand and they literally saved the night. I’m not going to disclose exactly how many of the delicious and healthy bars my husband and I ate that night…but let’s just say I’ve tried all four varieties and had a hard time choosing my favorite!

I loved them all, but I think Berry Medley is my favorite. Or maybe it’s the Salted Pretzel Chocolate. Oh, I just can’t choose – you really need to try them all and figure out your favorite. So what made these awesome? Well, a few things.

First the bars are made with tasty, wholesome ingredients that you can see – like, rich chocolatey chunks, crunchy salted pretzels, real fruit pieces and chewy rolled oats – that deliver great taste and provide a “chewy-with-a hint-of-crisp” texture. Special K Chewy Snack Bars are the perfect combination of tasty and visible ingredients that provide a satisfyingly scrumptious “any time” snack that you can feel good about eating. With four delicious flavors – Berry Medley, Blueberry Bliss, Salted Caramel Chocolate and Salted Pretzel Chocolate – new snack bars are the perfect option that deliver 100 delicious calories per bar. I mean, come on…100 calories for these delicious bars??? And you can just SEE the oats – which is AWESOME in my book.

I had to actually stop my husband from eating them ALL before I had to a chance to thoroughly test them out for y’all. 🙂 I loved the flavors and how it felt like I was just eating oats baked with yummy fruits or chocolate. This is pretty much my dream bar. So I’m sure you are wondering by now where you can find them – lucky you, they will be in all major groceries and retailers like Target, etc. starting January 2015! Which is lucky for me too because I’m almost out. Check out the Special K website to read more info and check for more info on where you can buy. You can also follow the brand here and here. I’m so stoked that I found these excellent bars and that they literally saved the night after we came back from our honeymoon! Special K for the win (ironically, my husband’s nickname among some of his college friends is Special K – so I was kinda predisposed to love these)!

I really enjoyed these bars and am so excited I’ll be able to pick them up in stores soon. I don’t recommend having no food in your house and having to eat (an undisclosed amount of) them for dinner, but if you find yourself in that predicament, at least they are FANTASTIC!
