I’m working on filling out my race calendar for the year and thought I’d share what I had so far. Let me know if you are running any of these! Also, I am belatedly linking up to Tara’s weekend update – this post is more of a year preview than a weekend update but I love Tara and her linkup π Go check her out!
1/10 Al Lewis 10 Miler
1/17 JFK 20K
3/22 GPS White Hall 15K*
3/28 MCM 17.75K* – I really hope I get into this race for two reasons. First, it would fit my goal of an unique race distance for 2015 and, maybe most importantly, it would guarantee me entry into the Marine Corps Marathon. Fingers crossed!
4/12 Cherry Blossom 10 Miler
4/18 Northface Endurance Marathon Relay* I’m definitely doing this one, just haven’t signed up yet, but will be signing up soon!
?? Fit Foodie 5K*
9/20 Navy Air Force Half Marathon*
10/4 Wineglass Marathon – yep. I have chosen Wineglass to be my fall marathon. I’m pretty excited about it — now to just find a place to stay! Anyone run the Wineglass full and have any tips (race wise or hotel wise)?
10/25 Marine Corps Marathon*
11/28 NCR Trail Marathon*
I’d also like to fit in a sprint tri sometime during this schedule and probably a couple more local races as well. The list as stands is 11 races, not including the New Year’s Day 5k I ran (recap coming soon) and I’ll probably add at least three more races to make it an even 15 for the year.
I am not sure about the NCR Marathon. I really enjoyed it, which is why it’s on my list but 3 marathons in less than 90 days is a lot. However, I will most certainly run it if I don’t get into Marine Corps. π

What are you running this year?
I’m looking for a fall marathon. Wineglass looks awesome! Thanks for planting that seed!
Hoho runs recently posted…Foggy and Slow
happy to plant race seeds π
You have a busy schedule! I have the Cherry Blossom, Parkway Classic and Ragnar that I’m already signed up for. I’m sharing a 4-pack of PRR races so that’s two more. Then there will be Lawyer’s Have Heart and probably the Army Ten Miler. Who knows what else the year will bring!
Coco recently posted…The First Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up Of 2015
that’s an excellent start! i looked at the PRR race pack but didn’t pull the trigger π
Someone is excited to start off their year of running! I am doing Ragnar in Cape Cod in May, prob the Lawyers Have Heart 10k maybe Richmond or Philly in the fall for a half? Hope you have a great year of running strong!
Deborah @ Confessions of a Mother Runner recently posted…Ultimate Coffee Date-January 2015
do richmond for sure! such a great race π
Great race schedule lineup! I have my first half in two weeks so I am pretty excited about that. I think I’m going to do 7 halfs and a few 5ks just for training purposes. Right now only one is out of state, San Antonio Rock N Roll.
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner recently posted…Carlsbad Half Marathon Recap: Week 8
local races are definitely so much cheaper, right? and that sounds like a strong schedule!
I’m impressed you’re aiming for two marathons in October! I know that you’ve done two in a row before, but I’m impressed you’re going to do it again. Talk to Jenny about places to stay for Wine Glass since she did it this past year.
And I’ll see you at Cherry Blossom, as well as I’m sure some of the other local races as well.

yeah, it wasn’t so bad. and if i get into marine corps, i’ll just take that one super super easy and try to have fun π hope to see you at a race before april!
Love the Wineglass marathon!! I ran it twice! We always stayed close to the start area and my husband drove along the race course with the car and we met up at the finish and drove back to the hotel. This is the place we stayed: http://www.daydreamsbb.com/ I recommend to book very soon, the hotels in the area are sold out quickly. Good luck!

thank you for the rec – i really appreciate it. i’ve heard SUCH great things about that race!!!
I’m still figuring out my schedule, but for sure RNR DC, Paris! Hoping for Fit Foodie again too π

fit foodie was SO MUCH FUN! i realllllllly hope to do it again!
I’ve got my eyes on MCM 17.75K and MCM too!
ARE YOU SERIOUS???!!! Yes, yes, yes. That would be amazing! Oh now I’m even more excited π
Fun schedule – I’ll be seeing you often! 17.75K would be GREAT for a guaranteed entry, but I’ll be running LOVE Run Philly that weekend. Hehe…3 marathons in 90 days – would you moon up if you did it? As for Wineglass the marathon and half marathon is point to point (marathon Bath to Corning, and half Campbell to Corning). You get on a bus in Corning and they shuttle you to the start (luckily we were housed in a school for the half…I think the marathoners had chillier conditions). I know people stayed in Bath (but I don’t think runner drop off at the start was allowed) and drove to Corning to catch the bus. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Corning, which was about a 5 min drive from Corning and right off a major road. If you prefer staying within walking distance from the finish line a lot of people stayed at the Radisson Hotel which is less than quarter or half mile from the finish. There are also little Inns in the town that book up fairly quickly. Good luck!

thanks for the tips – i might book at that same hotel π you rock!!
I love it!! Can’t wait to see how it all goes! And I hope we can meet at Cherry Blossom!!
Janelle @ Run With No Regrets recently posted…My First Meal Plan of 2015
I hope so too – it’s a large race but I ran into lots of people last year π
What an awesome list! I’m also running Cherry Blossom. I want to run a Spring half and am thinking about Fredrick or ZOOMA Annapolis.
Tiffany recently posted…Weekend Update #1
zooma is fun but kinda hilly but really great swag. i’ve heard awesome things about frederick!
I hemmed and hawed and finally decided to nix RNR DC –I just do not have freezing training runs in me after last year! I’m in for GW Parkway 10M, Broad Street 10M, and (I think) Kinetic Tri and Columbia Tri. Can’t wait to hear which tris you’re thinking of!
CK recently posted…Sweet Potato Ginger Latkes
someone else mentioned the kinetic tri to me and i’ve bookmarked the website!
Oh yay! I’ve heard such good things about Wineglass. I haven’t run it yet, but it’s definitely on my races to run list being that my parents live just two hours away. Best of luck with your training.

thank you – i’m super pumped about wineglass — i’ve read a TON of race recaps and it seems amazing!
My goal is to do a 5k but I haven’t decided which one yet. I got sick over Christmas so my running got thrown off.

so many people were sick over christmas – i hope you’re feeling better!
ooh, I hope Fit Foodie comes back! I want to do it and missed it last year with all of you guys! I’m still unsure of the 10 miler this weekend. I didn’t get my last prescribed long run in but we’ll play it by ear!! Great list of races – and only 3 marathons (lol)
Mar @ Mar on the Run recently posted…Shamrock Half Training: Weeks 1 &2
me too – it was SUCH a fun weekend. and i know, i know about the marathons. i can’t help it π i’m also probably not ready to run a 10 miler but i’m just gonna take it slow and easy!
Woo hoo! This is so exciting, Courtney! I get excited just reading this list, don’t you? Okay, a 17.75K race?!? Whaaaaa? You have to do it! That is definitely a “unique” distance, to say the least. So, if you do that one you’ll run MCM but pretty close to Wineglass…interesting. π I’m so glad that I’ll be along for the (virtual) ride! Thanks so much for linking up this week; hope your Monday is off to a good start.
Tara @ Running ‘N’ Reading recently posted…Weekend Update – Happy New Year!
i know – i have to do that 17.75k, right? it sells out really really quickly so i’ve got my fingers crossed i can get into the race! π
The Cherry blossom 10K sounds fun. I’ve always wanted to run a race in D.C. and I was sad when the Nike Women’s Half-Marathon D.C. race was cancelled. The Nike Women’s East Coast race will now be in a new city (to be announced)
Where is the Wineglass Marathon? I keep hearing about that race.
Happy New Year!
wineglass is in corning, NY. supposed to be a great race! i heard that the nike race is now in toronto…
Woo! Great schedule. I will see you at Cherry Blossom and I’m sure a few others throughout the year. Can’t wait to hear your impressions on Wineglass – sounds like a great one! I normally have a full year of races planned, but am going to wait and see how I do in the marathon in March – if I BQ there, will pick a fall marathon for fun, but if not, I will probably do Steamtown.

You’ve got a full plate! Looks like a really awesome year π
Looks like a great year of racing! I wish there was a Fit Foodie race near me – I remember reading a few recaps about last year’s race and it sounded like a lot of fun!

Two girls in my running group ran Wineglass Marathon last fall and absolutely loved it. I will check to see if they have a recommendation on a place to stay. I would be interested except New Yrok City Marathon is on my radar for my fall marathon!

I’m set to run the Lake Sammamish Half in early March and am going to try to register for the MCM 17.75K, too. Best of luck to the both of us!
In May, I’m running the Eugene Marathon (my goal race), then the Chicago Marathon in October. I know there will be other shorter races sprinkled in there, but I haven’t decided those yet.
I have 3 Sprint Triathlons I am courting right now, with the first in April. I am on the look out for some runs now….
Wish me lucK!!!
I’m definitely looking forward to Cherry Blossom in April, Hot Chocolate 15K in Seattle in March (I know DC was a disaster but Seattle was the complete opposite) and of the Outer Banks olympic tri. Have fun with your races this year!!
Stacey recently posted…TotR: Running Goals
This is impressive! WOW! I’d better get to it – I don’t have a lot scheduled right now. I am aiming for a spring and then a fall/early winter marathon and a few 5ks sprinkled along the way. π I’d also like to do a half marathon this summer.
I’ve heard great things about the Wineglass Marathon!
Sounds like such a fun year of racing! π

Thanks! It literally all came together in the last couple days π
Your race plan makes me feel like a slacker. I have nothing planned out, I should get on it. I hope you can get into those you want.
Abby @ BackAtSquareZero recently posted…Marvelous Mizuno
Thanks Abby but you are FAR from a slacker, girl!!
I’m running the Rock n Roll half in Virginia Beach! And I’m thinking of adding a few races in before then – maybe a local half or 10K in Northern VA

I ran the North Face Endurance Challenge Marathon and love it! I just noticed that they moved it from early June to mid-April. That’s good because it was very hot and humid the year I ran it! Perhaps I’ll come cheer for your relay team!
