Richmond Marathon Training Recap 9/9-9/15

September 16, 2013 By: project30in20126 Comments

This was another extremely busy week. I had both a bachelorette party AND a wedding…oh and I threw in a trip to Portland, ME in the middle of that for fun (not really, it was for work). It was tough to get in my runs but I’m pretty proud of my week.

Monday: Nike Training Club workout – wow. So glad I downloaded this app. It kicked my butt! I did the perfect score, which included planks, squat jumps, deadlifts, lunges, and much more. It was a great sweat session.

Tuesday: 2.5 mile run before my flight to Maine. Quick and dirty, but it got done!

Wednesday: 6 miles in Portland. It was a hilly route and surprisingly warm but I pushed through. This was my longest run in a couple of weeks after taking it easy on the ankles and I could definitely tell. My ankles felt okay for the most part, but I just felt TIRED. After that run, I flew back to DC and had a fun night, bachelorette style! It was a looonnnng day! photo (63)

Thursday: Rest day! Much needed.

Friday: 3 morning miles. I paced a couple of my run group girls and that was very fun! It was an easy low key run for me.  Plus lots of dancing at the wedding reception I attended later that day. 🙂

Saturday: 12 GREAT miles. I will share more about this run tomorrow, but it was pretty great. It was a great confidence booster to realize that the PT is working!

Sunday: Nike Training Club Lower Body Workout.

Total: 23.5 miles

How was your week of training? Lots of folks raced this weekend — did you?

Yey!! Maine is beautiful isn’t it? I’ve spent a LOT of time there! And congrats on a great 12 mile run! Amazing what a good run can do for the confidence! I ran the DIVA half marathon. Not a PR, but close despite the HORRIBLE conditions. Race recap coming!

Looking forward to your recap — it sounds like that race was very poorly planned! And congrats on a strong race despite terrible conditions 🙂
