This is my final week of recapping my Shamrock Half Marathon Training because the race was this weekend! I’ll have a full race report later this week, but until then here’s my recap of how the week went. And just because I don’t want you to have to read all the way to the bottom, I did in fact run sub 2 at the race. My full race recap will be up later this week! Each week during this training cycle, I shared how my training went and what the week looked like. I’m did this because: 1) I love reading about how other folks train and 2) it’s great for me to have a record of what I did each week. Also, honestly, it helps keep me accountable when I know I’ll be writing about it. I also post almost all of my runs on Instagram as well. Enjoy!
Monday: 3.14 easy miles for Pi day! My whole plan this week was to take it easy on the miles and just keep moving. Plus Pure Barre after work.
Tuesday: 4 easy miles, 3 of those with Caitlin.
Wednesday: This was supposed to be a rest day. But the Metro was closed (yes, the whole system – it was crazy), so I ended up walking almost 3 miles to Pure Barre.
Thursday: 3.1 easy miles with Caitlin. We ran into a rude driver, but otherwise a lovely run!
Friday: Pure Barre run club! Just under 3 miles – no Pure Barre class because I had to head home and pack for the beach!
Saturday: Shamrock 8k! This race was really fun and REALLY windy!!! Ran it nice and easy with my friend Deb to save up for Sunday.
Sunday: Shamrock Half Marathon! I did it, y’all! Way more details to come, but I went sub-2! Woohoo! That’s all I’ll say about that for now.
