Yesterday, I shared my Shamrock Marathon Race Recap. Whew. I’m still reeling a bit from the disappointment of Sunday’s race, but it’s a new day and I’m looking ahead! Today, I thought I’d share some of the fun stuff that happened this past weekend!
Amazingly, I have NO pics of my BRF, Mar and I from the whole trip. Can you believe it? I am so bummed…but we had so much fun hanging out and sharing meals and she was the most supportive friend through a tough weekend. Love her. We made great time getting to the beach and as I mentioned yesterday, had a quick pit stop at the expo (where I got to meet Amber from Fit Foodie Runs!) and then headed to the hotel. We were both staying at the same hotel, which worked out great — we had oceanview rooms and I got this great picture of the moon Saturday evening:
After a late lunch, Mar was my guest at our Oiselle Team dinner. I was so excited to get to meet some gals that I’ve only met on Twitter, like Ellen (my Oiselle Secret Santa, who is just absolutely amazing – love her!), Mollie (who organized the whole thing and has the cutest daughter!), Ashley (she’s an Auburn fan, but I love her anyway!), Amelia (who is technically not on the team, but her wife, Danielle, is), Stephanie (Mollie’s sister and another Oiselle team member with an absolutely precious family!), Michelle (who is so sweet and gave me ginger to help my stomach!) and of course Kristin, our amazing team manager! It was such a fun dinner and I could’ve probably chatted all night if I wasn’t anxious to try and get tons of rest before the race.
We also had an awesome contingent of DC gals at dinner — somehow we missed getting Michelle in this pic but here are some of the DC Oiselle gals (plus Mar!):
Honestly, spending time with these ladies was the highlight of my weekend and I was so glad to do so. It was so fun to spend time with such a friendly, fun, fast (seriously, I have some QUICK teammates — talk about inspiration!) runners. While it was a tough weekend, I had so much fun with Mar, my teammates and enjoying the beach (from the warmth of my hotel room, lol!).
