So Much Joy!

September 12, 2013 By: project30in20123 Comments

I just attended my second bachelorette party in less than a week! Whew! I’m exhausted but couldn’t be happier to celebrate Lo, one of my very best friends. I feel so blessed to have such fantastic friends and I’m so happy to share in their joy. The celebration was multifacted and we started off exercising our artistic talents. In the picture below, the top pic is halfway through the class and below is after we’d finished our masterpieces. We also did dinner and some salsa dancing. All in all, a ton of fun and a great celebration of a fantastic woman.

The beginning of a fun night!

The beginning of a fun night!

I’ve been friends with a couple gals in that picture for over 18 years. It’s incredible to think of all the things you share with someone over the course of almost two decades. The good, the bad and everything in between. In today’s world, where it can be very in vogue to attack other women and put them down, it’s nice to have friends who feel like home. I treasure my friendships and realize that I’m so lucky I have women (and men, but mostly women!) in my life who love me no matter what. If you know me, you know I’m a Sex and the City fanatic. Say what you will, but I love that show and will never stop. One of my favorite quotes is from Carrie:

The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don’t, but in the end they’re the people you always come home to. Sometimes it’s the family you’re born into, and sometimes it’s the one you make for yourself.

It’s so true. This family I’ve created (in addition to my actual family, who are amazing) is one I couldn’t imagine living without.

Are you a SATC fan? Have you created your own “family?”

The paintings look fun! I think I might look into one of those classes. Something new to decorate my house. =)
