I usually don’t post on Saturdays but I read Coco’s Ultimate Coffee Date post and it was so cute that I wanted to join in. This is a new to me linkup that is hosted by Coco at Got 2 Run 4 Me Deborah at Confessions of a Mother Runner and Lynda at Fitness Mom Wine Country. Go check those ladies out – I’ve met Coco and Deborah in person before but this is actually my first time visiting Lynda’s blog so I’m excited to get to “know” her!
So…if we were having tea (I don’t drink coffee – but I love tea!), I’d tell you…
- How sore my legs are after four Pure Barre classes, multiple runs and PT this week. I haven’t had sore legs in awhile – I’m taking it as a good thing!
- How excited I am that tomorrow’s weather is calling for 60 degrees! I’m planning on going running in shorts for the first time in forever!
- How pumped I am about everything that’s going on at my church this year. I attend a fantastic church (Cap City Church) and our Pastors have an amazing vision for this year. I’m leading a small group of women that will meet once a month just to fellowship and I’m so pumped about it! Sidenote: if you are in the DC area and looking for a church, let me know! I’d love to have you join me on a Sunday or come to my women’s group (I’m calling it Girlfriends Get Together).
- That I am in need of a few new books. I love to read and need something new on my Kindle — read anything good lately?
- I am finally getting the hang of increasing my cadence while running. My PT recommended it and it was super hard at first – but now I can pretty much do it naturally, which is awesome!
What’s new with you? Coffee or tea?
Good job on the cadence. I’ve tried a few times, but it wears me out. I need to read your post about it.

It wore me out at first too!!
I am a tea drinker also!
I am reading “The Girl On The Train” – I started reading it after Tara’s (Running N Reading) book review. I am on the edge of my seat! I highly recommend. π
Great news about the weather, church and cadence! π
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I read that too, actually! Based on Tara’s rec of course π
It’s great that Barre is going so well for you. I tried it a few times and didn’t really feel it. I worked on my cadence last year a little bit. It feels awkward at first to change it doesn’t it? Thanks so much for linking up with us for the coffee date. They are always so much fun to write and read.

Thanks for hosting! I love the idea !
What a cute idea for a link up! There’s not much better than girlfriends and coffee! Right now I am reading The Girl You Left Behind by JoJo Moyes and I’m liking it. I’ve found a ton of book suggestions on Goodreads. Do you use it? It is like a social media site for readers. I pretty much just stalk whatever Tara (Running N Reading) is reading because we seem to have similar tastes.
Ha, I stalk Tara’s books too! I might check out that book – I heard that author is great!
i just finished tiny, beautiful things. it was gorgeous and poignant (but with the occasional F word). π

Oooh thanks for the recommendation π
Great job on the cadence! Do you use a metronome app? I was going to suggest The Girl On The Train ….

yes, i use an app called run tempo – but now i can pretty much hear it in my head (for better or worse!) π
I really need to try keeping track of my cadence, I’ve never done that before. And no coffee for me either. I’m not a regular tea drinker, but will occasionally! Hope you had a great weekend!
i use an app called run tempo. but i’ve found that once you get it in your head, you really do just lock in. it took me about a week.
I love coffee date posts! Tea for me lately, actually we’ve been getting into loose tea and I am loving the variety!
