Hi, y’all! I’m checking in real quick from West Virginia, where K and I are celebrating one year of married life. I wanted to link up with Tara for the Weekend Update. Please stop by and pay that awesome lady a visit.
This past weekend was a really packed one over in the Carter household. It started off Friday night where I managed to restrict myself to just one episode of Orange is the New Black before bed. I knew it was a dangerous proposition with a 5am wake up call on Saturday but I thought I could handle it. I’m happy to say I was able to to take on the challenge. I’ve since watched a few more episodes and I’m loving the new season!
Saturday started off early with a tough long run. My group was running the Custis Trail, which I had ran one time before and dubbed the “Trail of Death.” The trail is a four mile beast. We were running nine miles total and I wasn’t excited about it. But, while that run was the most challenging I’ve had in awhile, I’m really proud of completing it and running strong. It was one of those “this will make you better runs” and it did.
Next after the Trail of Death, I had a great morning celebrating Global Wellness Day over at the Four Seasons in Georgetown. We (Sue, Ashley, Elena and a few other local bloggers) were treated to an outdoor yoga class, a wonderful breakfast and a makeover. It was by far the most relaxing post run experience I’ve ever had in my LIFE. SO wonderful!
Then, it was time to pack up and load out. K and I (and Sasha) are spending a few days in West Virginia. We’re staying in a beautiful b&b in Charles Town and really just reconnecting and relaxing. I’ll share more about our trip once we’re back home, but be sure to follow me on Instagram if you want updates while we explore!
We are having the best time! I hope everyone had a great weekend and don’t forget to go stop by Tara’s blog to read more Weekend Updates!
Have you ever been to West Virginia? It is gorgeous out here!
