When Sverve asked me if I wanted to take part in a 30 day skincare challenge, I was like…um, yes. Yes, I do. I sweat a ridiculous amount and maybe, potentially don’t shower immediately after every workout (sometimes bacon comes first), so I know that I need to establish a skincare routine. I have interesting skin – it’s combination which means I get all the fun of dry skin along with an oily T zone. Yay, me! note: I was compensated for this post, but my skincare issues and thoughts are alllll mine, trust me. So what is Tula? Literally, Tula means balance – it is the Sanskrit word for balance – and the line takes that belief into everything they do. Dr. Raj, the founder is both a gastroenterologist and internist, and has been featured on all my favorite morning shows like The Today Show and on Doctor Oz. She knows her stuff – and y’all know I have a thing for female owned business. Smart women doing the dang thing = a win in my book!
With my skin’s…quirkiness, shall we say, I was excited to take the 30 Day Challenge. The first thing I liked and noticed (outside of the cute blue color scheme for the products) was that the products are made with probiotic technology. I know that probiotics are everywhere, but I didn’t really know what that meant, especially in terms of skin care. Here’s what I learned (source):
ProBiotic Dairy Actives and Yogurt Extract are rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates.
These ingredients help protect the skin against negative environmental influences. The Probiotic Technology promotes a natural balance, externally supplying nutritive elements to the skin and thereby helping to stabilize the skin’s immune system.
The results: enhances repair activity and counteracts degeneration of structural proteins, collagen and elastin, provides increased moisture, restores skin’s natural equilibrium reducing irritation.
So basically, these products are made with things that are awesome and will create balance in my highly unbalanced skin. Sweet. So there are four main products that were gonna help me get my situation under control. They are:
I used them all (and no other skincare products) and from the first time I used the cleanser, I was impressed. My skin felt supple and clean and just refreshed immediately after using. I’ve always been really bad at keeping up skincare regimes, but tell me what to do and I’ll do it. I was nervous that my skin would feel heavy, but it was quite the opposite. After using Tula, my skin felt light and clean – I loved that feeling. I have never used an eye cream so I was especially excited to try that out. Well, I’m totally a believer. My dry skin is dry no longer and my oily T zone? The oil isn’t totally gone (I don’t think that’s possible) but it is toned down and the Tula products haven’t increased the oil – exactly the opposite! I am so excited that I’ve found products that actually work for me. So…where can you find Tula? Well, you can order the product exclusively on QVC here. BUT you can also win your own starter kit (the 4 products listed above!) here! I love giveaways so I was thrilled when I learned that I’d be able to host a giveaway for y’all. And I’m going to make it simple because simple is awesome:
TULA GIVEAWAY RULES:
- Subscribe to Eat Pray Run DC (super easy – use the box in the header or in the sidebar)
- Follow Tula on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter
- Comment and let me know what your skincare routine is currently
- Giveaway is open until Wednesday October 22nd – I will announce the winner on Thursday October 23rd
- Winner must reside in the United States — I’m sorry!
- A random number generator will pick the winner
When you get your awesome prize, here is the order in which you use the products. I don’t know how much the order matters — I generally used them in the order listed below but I couple of times I’d mix up the order of the serum and the cream and I still saw the benefits.
Step 1: Purifying Face Cleanser
- Apply with wet hands to wet face (product will lather and foam). Massage onto skin including eye are. Rinse after 30-60 seconds. Use AM and PM daily.
Step 2: Illuminating Face Serum
- Apply to clean, dry skin. Massage into skin using a circular motion. Product should be applied to entire face, neck and décolletage area, paying special attention to specific areas of concern. Use AM and PM daily.
Step 3: Hydrating Day & Night Cream
- Apply to clean, dry skin. Massage into skin using a circular motion. Product should be applied to entire face, neck and décolletage area, paying special attention to specific areas of concern. Use AM and PM daily.
Step 4: Revitalizing Eye Cream
- Apply to clean, dry skin. Pat into skin around the entire eye area (including the eye lid) using your ring finger. Use AM and PM daily.
Bottom line: I love these products – my skin feels supple and I don’t think I’ve ever even used that word in my life. 🙂
What’s your skincare routine? Have you ever used the word supple before??
Congrats Tara! You’ve won!
i was just fretting this morning that i’m not maniacal enough about my skin care for a 35 year old woman! i use the same basis soap i’ve used since i was a teenager, and a neutrogena moisturizer with spf 50, and then i put on garnier bb cream, which isn’t actually part of my skin care routine, but i think i should mention b/c it could be a part of a skin care routine. oh, and i do use a clarisonic between while the soap is on my face. i love that thing.
My skincare is a mix of what I’ve used that doesn’t make my skin go bonkers, neutropenia face wash & toner. No face creM bc my skin gets oily. 🙁 ROC eye cream.
I just liked ALL of their social media sites 🙂 I currently use Mary Kay, but I really need to find something to get these fine lines under control! Getting old sucks!

This is pretty embarrassing but my skin care routine is seriously washing my face with a bar of soap (sometimes hand soap if I don’t have Dove) and trying to remember to put on face lotion (which I remember about 50% of the time). Sad!
I have no real regime for taking care of my skin. I know I should but that is something I need to improve on. I’ve tried a few different things in the past but they would all make my face either too dry or oily. Can’t seem to find the right ,untrue for my skin.

lol, no I haven’t used supple but I’m going to start! what an awesome word. My routine is so basic. I use Aveeno products mostly.

I’m so glad you able to try these products and post about them; I’ve not heard of them before, but it looks great! I’ve been using mostly Bobbi Brown skincare products (with a few random things thrown in because I’m like that) since I worked for the company years ago. This line looks very interesting, though, and I’ll surely look it up. Maybe I’ll win…ha! 😉 Thanks Courtney!
