Here we are, again. A new year, a new chance to start over again. I haven’t made New Year’s Resolutions in a few years and I don’t think I will this year. At least not traditional resolutions. But I do like the idea of setting a few goals and noting a few things I can do differently this year.
I’d like to be more intentional in my efforts to to keep in touch with family and friends. Although it’s easier than ever to see what people are up to on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., deeper connections can be tough to maintain. I’ve learned you really do have to be intentional about it and I vow to be better at this in 2013.
Continuing to cook new meals. I was blessed with the Smitten Kitchen cookbook this Christmas (thanks, sis!) and I vow to continue my love affair with cooking new meals. There is truly something special about creating a healthy, delicious meal and I will continue to do that in 2013.
Taking time to reflect and pray. Sometimes, in the midst of our busy lives (and I know, it does get busy), it is difficult to set aside the time to reflect on life and to pray. This has been an ongoing struggle of mine and 2013, I will be intentional (notice a theme here?) in my quest to find quiet time daily.
Live in the moment and enjoy it. Again, being so busy can cause us to forget to enjoy the ride. Sometimes you just gotta let loose.
So what about you? What are you vowing to do differently or better in 2013?
