Well, the time has come again. I will be sharing my marathon training recap as I work my way to what I’m affectionately calling “Racetober” this fall. You can see my racing plan for the rest of the year here, but in October I’m already signed up for the Wineglass Marathon on October 4, the Army Ten Miler on October 11 and the Marine Corps Marathon on October 25. I’m not sure I’ll share the recaps here every week, but I’ll do my best.
Technically, my official training doesn’t start until this week but I’m going to share what I did last week because that was the first week I was really intentional about my runs in a while so I thought I’d start the recaps a week early.
Monday: 1 Run Streak mile
Tuesday: Pure Barre + 3 hot miles
Wednesday: Pure Barre + 1 Run Streak mile
Thursday: 6.2 miles (last run with Julie – tear!)
Friday: 1 mile
Saturday: 9.1 long, hot, hilly miles on the Custis trail. That was a rough run but got it done.
Sunday: 1 gravelly mile while on my Anniversary trip
Total: 22.4 miles plus two Pure Barre classes. Not a bad start!
The summer heat has really settled in and it was (and is) pretty gross in DC. There is not too much I can do on that front, though, other than just deal with it. The good thing about the heat is that come October, I’ll be so much stronger. At least that’s what I keep telling myself! 🙂
How’s your weather? Has it affected your running?
