You Run Slow, So What?

May 3, 2013 By: project30in20124 Comments

Recently, I blogged about feeling as if I needed to run faster. I just found this great article, that articulates much better than I ever could why it just doesn’t matter. So, this weekend, as you head out for races and training runs, remember to (as all the kids I volunteer with say) do you. The only person that cares about your time is you. So be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

It’s hard to remember, this, right? I love all the reminders and hearing from others that they struggle, too. We are still runners even though we are slow, and, don’t forget we are lapping everyone on their couches!!

So true! Running slow is much better than not running at all!

Thanks Caroline — I think it’s a pretty universal struggle, even with faster runners. It’s always hard to gain that perspective but it’s so important to realize that it’s not a competition 🙂
