If you follow me on social media, you saw lots of pictures from my super fun weekend trip to Annapolis for the Zooma Annapolis race. I don’t think I mentioned this here but I actually changed to the 10k from the half marathon because I had a million wedding things to do Saturday and running the 10k meant I’d be finish early enough to run all my errands. I will recap the race tomorrow, but I thought I’d share a bit about how fun all the OTHER stuff was!
The Loews hotel was gorgeous and Zooma had them brand the room keys – a very cool touch! The small but fun expo had almost anything you could need, including Zooma gear and stands from the race sponsors. Feetures was running a great sale as well. Packet pickup was easy since the race is on the smaller side and you could be in and out quickly, if you wanted to. I hung around chatting with other race ambassadors for a bit, which was fun.
The swag bag was just as good as last year! We got a great bag, a tech tee, a pair of Feetures socks, a hat and this weird “lady pad” to use while running. Aside from the “lady pad” (not what it’s really called but that’s what it is to me), I will use EVERYTHING in our bag!
After the race, some ambassadors got together for dinner. Sue, Erika, Heidi, Cynthia, Mar, and Lisa were all there and we had WAY too much fun. Seriously. Since Sue and I had decided to run the 10k, we decided that meant we could drink all the wine. Um, yeah. LOL. It was fun, what can I say?
After dinner, we headed to the Mocktail party at the hotel. There we also hung out with Colleen, Natalie and Lindsay. I genuinely enjoyed meeting all these ladies that I felt like I knew already from the interwebs. They are all interesting, smart, fierce runners and fun – just the way I like my lady friends! Post mocktail party, a few of us moved over to the hotel bar to just gab it up a bit more (no, there was no more wine. We’d definitely had enough.). We all started yawning about 9ish, and decided it was way past time to go to bed since we all had an early morning. We all headed up to our respective rooms (me with Cynthia, my roomie) and got ready to the race the next day.
Tune in tomorrow for the actual race recap! And if you raced Zooma, I’d love to hear how it went for you!
