12 miles. DONE. (+ a Road ID Winner!)

September 18, 2013 By: project30in20128 Comments

If you follow me on social media, you know that I had an excellent 12 mile run this past Saturday. I ran with a friend from my running group and we ran the majority of the time on the Crescent Trail. It was my first time running on this particular trail and it was absolutely beautiful. ย We ran from the National Mall, through the Georgetown Waterfront, which led us to the trail. It was perfect – cool and crisp (it was so dark when we started that the monuments were still lit up!) when we started and then the sun peaked through.

A great run!

A great run!

The actual run was great, as well. As you can see, my splits were relatively consistent with a few miles being significantly faster (ahem, mile 10) or slower (mile 7). I was really encouraged by this run and think that if things continue on like this, I should have a huge PR at my half marathon next month!

In other news, we have a Road ID Winner! Congrats to…

Kathleen Riley!

Kathleen, please email me at eatprayrundc @gmail.com to receive your prize! You have until Friday to email me ๐Ÿ™‚

What was the last great long run you did? And have you gotten your own Road ID yet??

It is so exciting to see your splits looking that good. Mine are always horrible toward the end of the run!

Try starting out slower – then you’ll have more energy to push it at the end ๐Ÿ™‚

Awesome job! I love when I have a great long run, it’s feels awesome. My last long run was a few weeks ago, a solid 10 miles, felt like I could keep going!
