In an earlier post, I discussed how I’m not a runner, but am nevertheless running the DC Rock and Roll Half Marathon on March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day for the win!). I’m excited pumped resigned to do this (you can’t take it back once it’s on the interwebs!) race and you should too!
A few folks have asked how I’m planning on training or when my training begins. I counted it out and if I start training next week, then that gives me 12 weeks till race day. 12 weeks is pretty standard training time, so I’m going for it!
When I ran the Charlottesville half marathon way, way back in 2007, I used Hal Higdon’s training program and found it straight forward and easy to follow. I’ve decided to use the same training program again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Here is the link to the program – let me know if you decided to do the race! I can always use a running buddy! π
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ms. Miller: SIGN UP! It’s going to great and then we’ll be super hot in time for spring / summer π
I’m running it too π
yay! i’m really excited π
Just the kind of blog post I had to read today. I am not a runner (or anywhere close to being called one) right now. I recently ran a 11k at 16:25 pace. I don’t know why, but felt it would be crazy enough for a usually sane me to sign up for a half marathon in March 2017! I’ve followed you for a while Courtney and love to see how far you have come as a runner. Thanks for inspiring people like me!!!
