You might remember that one of my earliest completed goals was to find a new church home. I was so excited because I felt at home right away at Capital City Church. I knew that God wanted me to connect and get plugged in to a local church, but I honestly had no idea the impact it would have on my daily life. It has been less than a year and so much has changed.
My relationship with God has grown in leaps and bounds since I’ve started attending CCC. I really can’t overstate how amazing this feels. It’s fantastic and I’m so grateful. I’ve been blessed to be able to serve in a variety of places at church. What’s neat is that I’ve also started and solidified some other really great relationships as well. I’ve been a part of a few small groups at the church (we call them life groups) and through those life groups, I’ve connected with a group of people that I adore. I’ve cheered our softball team, played football, attended a rockin’ 80s party, trekked to Virginia Beach, shared numerous meals, ridden roller coasters, watched movies and presidential conventions and so much more with these people who have morphed from strangers to “church” friends to “real” friends to family.
If that isn’t wonderful enough, somehow, while doing all that, I stumbled into the most incredible relationship with the kindest, most warm-hearted, God fearing man I’ve ever met. When I first strolled into CCC’s Christmas Program last December, I had no idea what I was in store for. I don’t think I could have predicted the community I’d find and what God had prepared for me. I know I surely can’t predict what is coming next, but I’m so looking forward to it!
Are you looking for a home in DC? Come check out CCC at H Street Festival this Saturday and then join us Sunday at 9:30 or 11am. Let me know if you want to join — I’d love to introduce you to my family!
I like your list!
