I found this recipe idea on Pinterest and after seeing the basic concept, I made it my own. I’m a big fan of anything sweet mixed with soy sauce – honey and soy sauce is a go-to marinade for me. So I loved the idea of mixing brown sugar, pineapple juice and soy sauce to create a tasty chicken dish.
I piled all the ingredients into my crockpot, left it alone for 6.5 hours and then had a wonderfully tasty, simple chicken dish.
Ingredients
- Chicken breast pieces (just under 2 pounds)
- 2/3 C brown sugar
- 1 C pineapple juice
- A few pineapple slices
- 1/3 C soy sauce
My verdict? I liked the flavor but next time I will use even more pineapple juice. Depending on your thoughts on sweet meat, you may like the recipe as stands. I like things sweet so I may even add a touch more brown sugar and maybe a bit less soy sauce next time. However, this is tasty and easy and goes great with a side of brown rice and veggies!
What’s your favorite chicken dish?
This recipe is kind of similar to a homemade teriyaki sauce….minus the pineapple of course.
I do also have 3 girls at home that wouldn’t mind that extra pair of SweatPink laces that you have.
My mom loves cooked pineapples and I just never have. That being said I LOVE the pineapple flavor. Sounds delicious.
Love crock pot meals. The other day I made a bbq chicken with the crock pot delish my favorite is a chicken chili. Its wonderful throwing it in and getting back home from work to the sweet smell of already cooked dinner when you walk in the door!
That is absolutely the best thing about crock pot meals – so easy and makes the house smell delicious!
