Five Foods and Drinks I’m Obsessing Over

July 7, 2016 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC31 Comments

This week we’re talking food and drink, and I’m sharing five foods and drinks I’m obsessing over this summer. This list could be much longer – I am loving a lot of things this summer, but I’m sticking to five! I’m also heading to the Jersey shore for a bit of beach time and family time this weekend and plan on indulging in most of the things on this list. Have a great weekend, y’all! Don’t forget to check out Cynthia and Mar and some of the other folks who link up with us – and please don’t forget to link to your hosts if you are participating!

Five Foods & Drinks I'm Obsessing Overthis Summer

  1. Fresh blueberries. Oh man – I love fresh fruit and I’ve just had some of the best fresh blueberries. I recently bought 2 pounds of yummy New Jersey blueberries and made a delicious cobbler. As I mentioned, we’re going to be in Jersey this weekend, so I plan to pick up some more on our way home.
  2. Not Your Father’s Root Beer. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve likely noticed my obsession with this beer. It’s kind of my new favorite thing and just so dang tasty! I’m planning on trying their other varieties soon as well.
  3. Peaches. Because what says summer like a fresh peach? Um, nothing. I love peaches in all forms but just biting into a juicy, sweet peach is summer to me. Yum yum and YUM!
  4. Heirloom tomatoes. There is NOTHING that compares with a farm fresh tomato. Winter tomatoes are so dang sad and summer tomatoes are just so awesome. I can’t get enough. I actually love to make a sammie with fresh mozzarella, sliced peaches and sliced tomatoes and basil. It is fresh, light and so so good.
  5. Barefoot Wine Spritzers. Semi-sparkly wine in a can. If loving this is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

What foods and drinks are you obsessing over this summer?

That “root beer” is too good! Imagine it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream?

I only just started eating tomatoes, and I made bruschetta on Saturday. It’s easy, doesn’t involve a lot of cooking, and it was so fresh and yummy.

Love the spritzer comment! lol! I haven’t had any good tomatoes this year yet – I have skipped the farmer’s market a bunch for hill training in the burbs. I need to remedy that. I have been loving blueberries and dug into some awesome watermelon last weekend, too! Have a great weekend!

Wine spritzers in a can?!?! How have I not heard of/seen these?! My mind is blown. And big yes to blueberries and heirloom tomatoes–I feel like I go a little nuts eating tomatoes over the summer since they’re so depressing in the winter!

i see those barefoot spritzers all the time at the wine stores near me but have yet to try them – sounds like i should! i recently tried the Pampelonne ones and wasn’t impressed at all. not really a fan of the mini Sofia sparkling wine ones either, so hopefully these barefoot do the trick!

My Dad and hubby picked wild blackberries from our farm in TN over the 4th and we brought a gallon home. They are so incredible! My parents have such an abundance that my Dad has been picking them multiple times a week and we even made blackberry margs over the holiday. I am loving all the fresh produce right now!

Cherries is my recent summer fruit obsession! Our tomato plants are finally producing enough tomatoes to put in our salads. Garden tomatoes are so delicious.
