Cause you know I’m all about that Oiselle, that Oiselle, that Oiselle, no Lulu… π No it doesn’t roll off the tongue as easy as “bass” but I am all about that Oiselle and for this week’s Friday Five, I’m sharing five ways I organize all my Oiselle gear. Per usual, Iβm linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you donβt play nicely, we will delete your link.
- Take stock. Your first order of business is to assess what you’ve got. What kind of collection are we looking at here? You need to know what you’re dealing with before you can get organized. So get everything together and fold it all. I know. But hey, you wanted to get organized, right?
- Figure out where it will go. Do you have enough space in your closet? Do you need a bin or do you need to clear a shelf? In our old house, I had no room and used a small shelf from IKEA to hold my Oiselle gear. It wasn’t ideal but it did the trick. Now (praise the Lord!) we have more space and I can actually fit all my Oiselle on a couple shelves. With room for more! (Luckily my husband doesn’t regularly read this :)).
- Organized piles are your friend. Sort your gear into organized, logical piles. I have piles for shorts, piles for long sleeved shirts, short sleeve and tanks are two piles and then outer gear (sweatshirts, etc.) is another pile. Accessories like hats and arm warmers get their own special section.
- Maintain organization by testing the system out to see if it works for you. Do you have enough room? Does your system make sense (to you)? Basically, just make sure that it works!
- Buy more. Of course you need a reward after all your hard work, right? So…you buy more. At least that’s how I always end my organizing sessions!
How do you organize all your run / fitness gear?
I just made my first Oiselle purchase last week. I bought the flyte and roga shorts. I can’t wait to try more of their stuff:)
I need these tips!

I need to find a system. I have all my shorts in a bin that I root through. Then after I wash them they may go in a drawer so I can’t find it easier next time.
I need to find a new system-my workout gear is bursting at the seams. I may buy a shelf or some drawers to sit behind my door to help me get more organized.
That is exactly how I organise all my clothes. Even point 5. LOL ! I know I am hooked when I prefer to spend money on a new top or running tights rather than actual everyday clothes…

I need to find an organized system that works. For now, I know where everything is for the most part and it is neatly put away. The problem is just that I have so much stuff that it’s everywhere! I need to find a way to contain it better. Then of course, #5! lol.
Those are great suggestions, especially the one about buying more!

Personally I am a Lulu girl, but know plenty of runners who love Oiselle. I like to organize my running stuff and have a special place for everything.

Nothing against Lulu π it just worked with my rhyme! I’m so happy to now have space for all my gear!
Haha, that’s definitely how i fix my organization problem…but more π Have a great weekend Courtney!
I had mine all rolled up and organized really well then all of the sudden it’s back to a big mess. Time to buy more!

Courtney, I love this! I’m pretty sure that “figure out where it will all go” is pretty much my criteria for whether I can buy more gear – ha! As long as I have a place to put it, it’s ON! π This also prompts me to get rid of old things, which is another great tip. Thanks so much for such a fun link-up topic; I’m hoping to find some revolutionary ideas today – hahaha! Hope you have a great weekend!

Haha, I love step 5. Frankly, if you organize everything and make more room, you are now allowed to fill that room.

OMG love the…”Cause you know Iβm all about that Oiselle, that Oiselle, that Oiselle, no Luluβ¦ ” I love this theme. I am re-organizing my room and my clothes are in a bin right now. Goal is to have everything set up during Memorial Day weekend. I’ll have to share a belated post π

Haha! Once a year I go through my workout clothes and throw out quite a few. I still end up buying more to replace the stuff I tossed too. Once I move into our new place I hope to finally unpack and get settled in.

I love your final suggestion of treating yourself with more running clothes. That’s the best suggestion I’ve read all morning! π

Organized piles definitely help! I had piles that were jumbles of various things and I was always struggling to find the right things. Now I have a separate pile for bottoms, tops with long sleeves and tops with no or short sleeves. So much easier!

I love that the reward is buying more! Ah haha, it makes total sense too. : ) My closet tends to get messy once a week, and then i clean it up while my chatting with the hubs as he watches some guy show I am not interested in! But, I am excited to try these tips. WOOT! Happy weekend, Courtney!

This is a great system, Courtney, and I envy all that Oiselle! I organize my running apparel by keeping all of my tops in one drawer and the bottoms in the drawer below the tops drawer. That way I can get dressed to run/exercise with very little thought.

I’m getting ready for a huge reorg of my house and these tips apply to so many different collections of stuff. My running gear is just about the only collection I have super organized! Maybe because I use it so much. π

I can’t stop singing the song. Ha. I do not have one piece of Oiselle, or Lulu either. Can you believe that?

I totally can! Before I found oiselle I was wearing a random assortment of running gear π
I really need to get me some oiselle gear. There’s not a dealer near me, but we’re currently working on that. I messaged my athletic stores to try to get them to bring the collection here. (Score for me)
I have to be honest, though, if I just stacked my stuff, it would be all over the place. I would never reorganize the piles. lol

Major kudos for working on getting oiselle out by you! That’s awesome!!
When it comes to my clothing, I’m a little too picky, so my wardrobe is small, but I guess it works ;D, so I usually have all my clothes organized in my dresser by shirts, athletic shorts, and jeans.

Nice. Being picky means you only have things you love π
Number 5 is by far my favorite!!! I organize all of my gear the same exact way, but in a drawer of my dresser. Seems like great minds think alike! π
Happy Friday!

Great minds, indeed π
Love it. I bought a drawer unit and put it in my closet JUST for my running gear so when I’m up pre-dawn I don’t wake anybody else up rifling through my dresser. I did it about a month ago and it’s working great. And my husband doesn’t read my blog regularly either. Most likely a good thing;).
That is awesome! Having dedicated space is really helpful!
Shoot, I’m lucky if it gets folded and into a drawer to begin with. I am guilty of just grabbing it straight out of the basket more times than anyone ever should. Glad you have more space now! And boys are so oblivious when it comes to clothes that he probably won’t even notice you added some π

Lol. True about him not noticing π
I love any tips that encourage me to buy more running clothes π Especially Oiselle!
You inspired me to organize this weekend, and not only did I separate my off season gear into its own container, I organized and cleaned out my whole closet! I love feeling de-cluttered!
That is AWESOME! Love it π
So what you’re saying is they make it out of the laundry basket? π
Great organizing tips! I really need to get into my closet and get to work!
Lol. Eventually they do π
