Hey y’all we’ve made it to the end of another week. This week was full of my blog going crazy (if you tried to comment and were unsuccessful, I’m sorry! Trust me, it was much more frustrating on this end, but now I’m working with a great company to help me manage the health of my blog – obviously I’ll share more with y’all soon on that front) and lots of working out! We’ve done the whole Fitness Snapshots Friday Five post before but it’s fun to revisit. Per usual, I’m linking up with my girls Cynthia and Mar for the #Friday Five. You can read our linkup rules here. Please note that if you don’t play nicely, we will delete your link. Seriously. We’ve had a number of people who have been dropping their link, not mentioning the linkup at all and not commenting on ANYONE’S (including the hosts’) blogs. Those links have been deleted and we will continue to delete them. Please follow our rules if you choose to linkup. Okay- bolded rant over. Have a great weekend!
I started the week off with a barre class on Monday. You might recall that one of my goals for this month is to attend more barre classes than I did last month (12). I’m well on my way – as you’ll see! I also did my PT exercises and rolled my ankle with a tennis ball – not fun, in case you’re wondering!
On Tuesday, I went back to Pure Barre and then followed up class with a 1.5 mile run. It was quick and it hurt. My legs were toast.
Wednesday, I rested and went to PT. I take that back. PT is not a resting place! We worked really hard and I ran both on the treadmill and outside. Sometimes it’s really hard to think about cadence, posture, foot strike and more while running.
On Thursday, I did another double workout – this time running 3 miles with Julie before heading off to Pure Barre. OH.MY.WORD. Yeah, I will definitely think twice before doing that. My legs were CRYING. So tough!
I will be rounding out the week with another Pure Barre class Friday, plus PT. Then on Saturday I will be running and volunteering at a DC Road Runners race (not at the same time).
How’d your week shape out?
Courtney, I hope you have a blast at the race on Saturday; volunteering is always fun for me, unless the weather is really crappy. 😉 I’m headed back for more PT tomorrow, as well – augh! Hurts so good, right? Great job with your barre work; you are rockin’ it! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks again for another great Friday Five!

Thanks!
I wish I could experience a class like that. I hope you have a good time at the race and the weather is not too bad!
I just checked – supposed to be about 30, which I’ll take 🙂
Good to know not to do barre and running on the same day! My friend just joined a gym that has barre classes, and she’s going to get me a guest pass so I can try it. Can’t wait!

Fantastic – Hope you enjoy it! And you can run on the same day, I would just run after class not before! 🙂
Looks like you are really enjoying those barre classes!!! Have a great weekend!

I’m obsessed 🙂 can’t help it!
Great week Courtney. Sometimes I felt like crying when at the PT office. Rest and PT cannot be used in the same sentence!

lol. So true!
Girl, you are getting your pure barre ON! I love it. This week I’m having a crisis of conscience, especially with regards to my blog. Long story. THis week fitness wise has been great, even if both runs were on the mill. Hoping that it won’t be the same next week! Have a great weekend!

ooooh – i hope you write about your experience!
I went to my first Pure barre class on Sunday! It left me kind of sore and I ended up running less this week but taking 2 yoga classes. Not sure if I could run after a barre class- my legs were pretty beat!

Oh did you like it??
PT can be very hard! I’ve seen big burly grown men cry at PT. It is not a walk in the park. Have fun at your race this weekend!

hahaha, it is def not a walk in the park!
PT is not a rest! Hope you are feeling better next week. You still got a lot done this week!

Hopefully you’ll have some good weather tomorrow. I always feel bad for volunteers when it’s cold, but so thankful they’re out there. My week was more quiet than usual. I took some extra rest days because my body was telling me I needed to.

I need to try a barre class. They just added them to my gym. People who take the class love the workout that you get from it. Sounds challenging but fun! Have a good weekend!

All this talk of Barre makes me wanna go back to it. I love it but with this learn to swim thing I”m doing, I don’t have a spot for it.

I don’t feel as busy as I did earlier after reading this post. Double workouts on multiple days…oh I would love to have the time for that.

I just make it work – I wake up early to start working and then I’m able to fit in my fitness! 🙂 I don’t have any kids though, so my schedule is my own to manage!
Whoa, you ARE well on your way to more Pure Barre classes this month! I’d love to try that type of workout–it sounds like something I’d really enjoy!
My week was spent walking. Being 32 weeks pregnant, I tire out so easily. At least I’m still doing something, and my puppy has enjoyed all the walks we’ve taken, too!
that sounds perfect – my pup is not about long walks in the cold 🙂
I like your exercise tracking (planner) at the top. I use Map My Run’s calendar view and log every type of activity. I’ve found it keeps me motivated on my laziest days. It feels so great to look back and see how active you’ve been and what you’ve accomplished! (I’m a fan of gold stars.) 😉
